An American fiction writer with an extensive backlog of novels that’s growing day-by-day, the writer A.G. Riddle has created a niche for himself within the literature industry and has already amassed a large amount of fans. Focusing on the genres of thriller, action and science-fiction, he’s managed to build his career over the years, even managing to secure himself a film adaptation deal in the process. With 20th Century Fox having acquired the rights to his novel ‘Departure’, he’s well on his way to becoming a well established name within his particular field.

Early and Personal Life

Growing up in Boiling Springs in North Carolina, America, A.G. Riddle always had a keen interest in writing, as literature was always his first and primary passion. This is something he held with him throughout his life until he finally got to achieve his dream and become the novelist that he had always wanted to be. Whilst this may have been a somewhat recent development, he’s still had time to carve himself a career, and even a film deal, within a relatively short amount of time.

Not just the one film deal either, but two, as he’s also managed to get deal with CBS Films who want to adapt his debut novel ‘The Atlantis Gene’ along with 20th Century Fox for his book ‘Departure’. This is a long to come for the novelist who only started out in 2012, getting his work published in 2013, as he achieves his lifelong dream of making it big in the world of publishing. Originally working in internet development as he started a number of companies online, he went onto to pursue his initial passion which was writing.

As he graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill, he went onto set-up his first internet company with his friend from childhood, as they established themselves making their names online. This wasn’t where his heart truly lay though, as he went onto create and build a number of other companies online over the following subsequent years. After about ten years of establishing companies though he managed to turn his hand to writing and literature, as he finally published his first debut novel ‘The Atlantis Gene’.

Now living in Florida to this very day, he continues to write whilst enjoying the married life with his wife who also takes an active role in reading his novels first. As he continues to secure film deals with major Hollywood film development studios he’s come a long way in achieving his ultimate dream of being a fully fledged writer. With plenty more titles waiting to be released on the horizon it appears he still has a number of books still left in him, as he shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Writing Career

Publishing his first book ‘The Atlantis Gene’ in 2013, he’s managed to carve himself a career in writing over the years that’s become well recognized by many within the industry. Gaining the respect of both his peers and contemporaries, he’s getting both critical and commercial success as more and more readers discover his work everyday. Initially uploading his debut novel to Amazon, he found it difficult to get noticed at first, what with the numerous other titles available on there, but within months of release he was fast gaining traction and well on his way to becoming a fully fledged writer.

With a franchise already under his belt, he’s currently building on his series titled ‘The Origin Mystery’, part of which was made up by his debut book ‘The Atlantis Gene’. Set to become a trilogy, he’s created a name for himself that is definitely one to be reckoned with as he establishes himself as a key figure within the industry. This will continue for some time yet, as his writing career carries on into the foreseeable future, with plenty more books set to be published very soon.

The Atlantis World

This being the third title in ‘The Origin Mystery’ series of books, this was to become the final chapter in this particular trilogy, thus providing closure for the series as a whole. Continuing in both the style and the tone of what has come before, this manages to capture the essence of what the series is about with its ongoing themes and characters. Building upon the ambiance as well, it also manages to create a sense of suspense that really doesn’t let up until the final moments, thus giving the fans what they’re ultimately looking for.

Following the ever tenacious Dr. Kate Warner as she attempts to come to terms with a global pandemic that has been set in motion by the Atlantis Conspiracy, it sees her not just trying to cure those around her, but herself as well. Mary Caldwell is a watcher of the stars from her observatory, as she keeps an eye on a threat emerging, one even bigger than anything humanity has faced before. Then there is Ares, a danger unlike any other and one which Dorian Sloane must contend with as he finds himself becoming a puppet to its nefarious intentions. Will they all be able to fight the greatest threat ever known? Can Dorian Sloane resist becoming a stooge to Ares’s misdeeds? What will become of them all as they enter the Atlantis World?

Departure

A standalone title and one that is soon set to become a major feature from the Hollywood film studio 20th Century Fox, this was to be his science-fiction thriller mystery. Building upon a premise of intrigue, this is a novel that keeps the reader guessing right until the very end, always wondering what might be happening behind the events unfolding. Whilst it is somewhat different from his other work, it still manages to retain much of that suspense that A.G. Riddle has now become famous for.

Featuring an ensemble of characters and protagonists, this follows the events that unfold after Flight 305 crashes in mysterious world and mysterious time vastly different to our own. Each character with their own narrative, they had planned on getting somewhere, but it wasn’t to be after uncanny forces brought their plane down in a mysterious conspiracy. They must now navigate themselves out of this strange place, as they attempt to come to terms with the truth behind what happened to them on that fateful day. Will they learn the truth? Can they ever get home? What exactly happened to them after their departure?

I was once told that we only have so many words for our lifetimes so we need to use them wisely. I enjoy your words immensely and hope you have many more to share. Thank you!

Can you explain the sequence of “The Long Winter” trilogy, please? I have two of the three books “Winter World” and “Solar War”, and they are marked books two and three. However, thinking that “The Lost Colony” must therefore be book one, I am confused to see it listed as book three! Help! Thanks so much!

Hi Diana – it’s definitely the order above. Winder World, then The Solar War, then the Lost Colony. Where were those books marked two or three?

I cannot believe it, but I am completely wrong about this. I have “The Solar War” and “The Lost Colony”. The book I am missing is “The Long Winter”, and I just ordered another copy of “The Lost Colony”. Yikes! Guess I need to order the one I DON’T have: “The Long Winter”. Please excuse me. Thank you for your quick response.
