Addison Moore is a young and talented individual writer, also a New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal bestseller from the West Coast, California, USA. Her work has been featured in the Cosmopolitan. She lives with her husband, four wonderful children (three boys and a girl) and two dogs. Her husband, who is her childhood sweetheart and whom she believes to be her muse, discusses most of her writing with her. He also helps to design and photoshop her book covers, but, of course, the authoress has the first and last say in them. It definitely sounds beautiful that her favorite literary characters are Odysseus and Penelope, for “Neither time nor war could stop those two.”

For more than seven years, she has been working as a therapist on a closed psychiatric ward. The only reason that she started writing on larger scales – and we readers should consider this fortunate – was because of the closure of this institution.

In an interview with The Reading Café, she talks about when she wrote her first story in kindergarten about a girl lost in the woods and four bears. Of course, she admits in she wasn’t aware of its plagiaristic implications at that time. She wrote sometimes when she was in her teens, and she has eventually picked writing up as a full-time job.

As a writer, she found the constraints of publishers too firm and moved on to publishing her work on her own, thus becoming one of the most widely known indie writers. She is a member of the indie-author cooperative society of talented individual writers. Her main focus is fictional romance and she publishes these in a wide variety, including young adult fiction (YA), contemporary, fantasy and paranormal romance (for the reference, CR, FR, and PR).

She co-authored a collection of novels that appeared in December 2004. This collection has served as a support for the NCADV, helping the victims of domestic violence. Word has got out about the film rights to her first series, Celestra, being purchased and put on screen by no less than 20th century Fox Studios, but negotiations may endure.

Her first series, the Celestra was the one to bring her success and is ever since the most widely known Addison Moore-creation. It has originated from morphing two ideas, a series about a group of teenagers and another story in which the protagonist, a young girl meets her guardian angel. These two storylines on their own did not seem to catch on, but, merged together, they were the perfect outline of the Celestra.

The storyline follows Skyla Messenger, a young girl reaching adulthood who moves with her family to Paragon Island, a fictional place off the coast of Washington State. Here she discovers she has Nephilim bloodlines of the coveted Celestra faction, and she immediately gets drawn into an unearthly fight of good and evil, involving angels, the living and the dead and decisions of life and death to make with no lossless outcome. During her proceedings she meets friends and enemies, falls in love and gets into difficult relationships with three of her most reliable companions, resulting in something that could be most precisely named as a love-pentagon, and constantly pursues the happiness and well-being of her loved ones.

Ethereal, a truly unbelievable start

The first book of the Celestra-series has appeared in early 2011 and was only available at first in e-book format. Although the author states that her one and only format for reading and publishing had always been paper, she soon got used to and after not long, adored the online formats, them offering more space’ for both reader and writer in many ways.

In this book, we first learn about sixteen-year-old Skyla Messenger and get to know a few of her friends on Paragon Island. The house where she had moved with her family is rumored to be haunted and Skyla, mitigated by the appearance of two mysterious dead girls, Chloe and Brielle appear, and the strange and hard-to-bear relationship of her mother and stepfather seeks recourse in a new friendship with Logan Oliver. They soon discover that both of them share the ability to be able to read minds. Both Logan, who turns out to be Chloe’s old boyfriend and his cousin Gage fall for Skyla, and engage in the competition to win her heart.

Meanwhile, Skyla is endangered by far higher forces and, with the help of her friends, commences to fight the angelic beings frightening her and her beloved ones.

Burn, in the midst of plots

In this book of the series (the third one, after Ethereal and Tramble), Marshall Dudley, yet another guy to fall for, appears. Skyla not only comes to the pushing choice between her male friends but also is upfront to another intriguing mystery: she lays her hands on Chloe’s diary. Learning various secrets about the dead girl our heroine is faced with important decisions to make. Should she trust her close-to-enemy? Should she do anything she can to get away from her?

Everyone seems to plot against her, all human and supernatural forces as she struggles to understand the people who surround her, the mysteries she encounters and her relationships with different members of her circles.

Join Skyla in yet another amazing adventure about passion, love, friendship and ethereal beings.

Although the series is dedicated to young adults, about the age group of 12 to 17, Moore finds her books read by all sorts of people, mothers and young girls or boyfriends who have been drawn into and stuck up on the magic of Celestra. With vivid, both loveable and beautiful characters, the Celestra-series is a breathtaking example of its genre.

However, these books are not the only ones from the author, she seems to write constantly, and, as she says, she only doesn’t write while she’s reading. If you love romance, fiction, and fantasy, try one of her books, I am sure you would find it perfect for curling up on the couch with, daydreaming with at a coffee shop, or just sunbathing in your garden.
