It is a more of a commentary about the feelings that go through the minds and hearts of the family members when they see their beloved ones being sent on deployments. It certainly is a very honest, blunt and frank viewpoint and there is also quite a bit of humor spiced around. This book is build round the character of Shane Madison. She basically is a person who like to avoid confrontation and be nice to people. However, like all women Shane also longs for men and would like to have one with whom she can go steady. She wants that to happen fast. She believes that the best way this can be done is to break up with them. She has honed this skill reasonably well including hitting a guy with a baseball bat. She also has learnt the art of allowing the men to make the first move and also has shared it with quite a few of her friends. She is proud of her ability to win over men and dump them as and when she feels. However, over a period she realizes that not men are made from losing or dumping. She realizes that what she gives to others will certainly come back to her, whether it is good or bad. She falls in love with handsome looking new guy who has also faced a similar rejection. He is out to take revenge on her and this is what the story all about. The book goes through many twists and turns and one certainly would like to know if the final outcome of the ways of this girl and how her new boy friend treats her in the end.

American Idle

This is another romance fiction centering round a character called Julie. It is about her being knocked out cold by her celebrity boss. This new experience might be the turning point in Julie’s life which she had been hoping for. All along she has just drifted along changing jobs, changing men and wandering around with no purpose at all. She now has a new job as a production coordinator on a new TV reality show. She believes that this will help her to stay in top gear. However, little does she know that she will have to deal with an executive producer who suffers from split personality. Then there is judge who suffers from bubonic plague. There are many other insane and abnormal characters like insane fans, a coworker who has murderous tendencies and uses mayonnaise as a weapon and other such out of the world behaviors. As you read the book it certainly becomes extremely interesting and you have no other option but to complete the book in one sitting.

These three books apart, there are a number of romantic and other related works of fiction from Holliday which are simply amazing to say the least.
