Amanda M Lee is a writer in genres such as young adult fantasy, cozy mystery, urban fantasy, and paranormal romance. She is a longtime newspaper reporter, a voracious science fiction fanatic, and an avid reader.

When she was a kid, she was torn between whether she would grow up and be Wonder Woman or the Incredible Hulk. She was flirting with being a Jedi Knight for a bit, however just wasn’t up for all the intense travel that was associated with such a gig. During her teen years, she settled on being a writer, but didn’t find out until later just how much effort that was going to entail.

Amanda doesn’t really have problems with writer’s block. She has the opposite issue, where she has too many ideas floating around in her mind. If she ever has a day where it just doesn’t really seem to be happening for her, she’ll get up and do something else. Usually, it’ll be better the next day.

She is always inspired to be a writer, but another problem she has is having enough time to actually write. When she gets fixated on something, everyone needs to look out. She will not quit, even if it is five in the morning, and she has to be to work relatively quickly; she just gets obsessive like that.

“Freaky Days” is the first novel in the “Mystic Caravan Mystery” series and was released in the year 2016. The show must go on, even if there are monsters afoot. Poet Parker is Romani by birth but is a fortune teller by her own choice. As a member of Mystic Caravan Circus, she has spent the previous ten years using her psychic talents to tell people what their future holds during the day and at night hunts paranormal monsters.

Mystic Caravan, you see, is a lot more than just a circus, it is also a force for good in a world that desperately needs help battling evil. She is set in her ways, and content with her life, until Kade Denton turns up and upends everything. He is proud and loud, and Poet doesn’t want anybody telling her what to do.

Kade, being the new head of security, believes that his only job is going to be tackling drunken revelers when they get out of hand at all. But he is in for a bloody and rude awakening. When the monsters strike and the truth ends up coming out, he finds he must learn while on the job with Poet as his somewhat reluctant instructor.

Sparks fly, both real and figurative, and when a truly horrible beast targets the circus to exterminate, then it is all magical hands on deck for this final showdown. Some things are born evil, however the people in Mystic Caravan were born to fight back against it. Get ready to be amazed.

“Freaky Lies” is the second novel in the “Mystic Caravan Mystery” series and was released in the year 2016. The Mystic Caravan Circus is a place of mayhem and magic. Unfortunately for Poet, it is also packed full with lies these days. It has been over a week since she learned one unsightly secret: Max, her boss, is is her boyfriend’s dad. Despite giving Max an ultimatum, he has yet to tell Kade the truth, which has left Parker in quite a sticky situation.

When the circus heads to Nebraska, she cannot dwell on her personal issues for too long since there is a body discovered in a field close by and it is missing legs, arms, and eyes. Everybody agrees that there is something off about this death, other than the obvious, of course, however nobody could figure out just what sort of force the folks of Mystic Caravan are facing off with the next.

Between her best friend Luke threatening to release some embarrassing photographs, the emotional distress, and local cop presence which is suspicious, Poet’s got her hands full. It’s all added to a new clown which makes everybody suspect that he is up to no good, even while leaving the females salivating.

Clues come together slowly but surely, and when the end comes, the enemy turns out to be somebody that no one saw coming. What happens when the face of evil just looks like a victim? And, even more importantly, what happens when all the lies are eradicated and Poet gets stripped bare and forced to tell the truth?

“Freaky Hearts” is the third novel in the “Mystic Caravan Mystery” series and was released in the year 2017. Poet’s having a tough time of it, and then some. She owes her boss everything for saving her from living a life on the streets, however Mystic Caravan’s favorite psychic struggles because that same loyalty caused her to lose her shot at true love.

When the circus shows up to Brigham City, the nature lovers in the troupe look forward to seeing the Great Salt Lake but Poet cannot shake the feeling that somebody, or rather some dark entity, is watching her. Her discomfort does not ease even a little when back at the circus, where Kade’s pretending she does not exist as he grapples with the truth about his parentage.

A local boy disappears, and the cops show up at the circus announcing that everybody’s a suspect. The suspicion increases when the missing child shows up alive in some adjacent field. Even after giving him back to his parents, the cops refuse to back down and Poet finds the walls are closing in.

Between local legends about saltwater monsters, the shady cabin out in the woods, angry ghosts which might be waging war on the outsiders, and Kade’s inability to stay away despite his festering anger, she has her hands full again. The show must go on, like always. The circus continues running like a well-oiled machine, until some trouble comes calling. She finds it tough to straddle the line between emotional reality and when the enemy is clear she realizes she herself might be the ultimate target.

Can this group of merry mischief makers hold it together just long enough to take one more foe down? Only time will tell whether or not Poet’s happy ending is within her grasp or if death’s going to get her first.

   Just pre-ordered Landon but in reading about this book of the Wicked Witches of the Midwest world. It says it falls after Make a Witch. Can’t find this book.
