Ashley Poston is a well known American author, who likes to write contemporary, young adult, and science fiction books. She has just started her writing career and has written only 4 books so far, However, author Poston has achieved a great success in her short career. Poston wrote her debut book series, which is called as Radio Hearts series, before going on to write a couple of standalone novels. The two books of the series are quite popular worldwide. Author Poston sees herself as a full time fan-girl at heart, and a part time author. Her birth had taken place in the rural region of South Carolina. She spent most of the time during the early years of her life in her hometown in South Carolina. Before taking up writing as a career, author Poston tried her luck in a number of other jobs. Some of the previous jobs include working for a brief period as a hotelier, a barista, a cover designer as a freelancer, and a clerk. Finally, author Poston found her way to her dream job and joined the publishing industry. As of today, she resides in the New York City from where she continues to work on her next novels and stories. Poston seems to have a quirk for the movies of Nora Ephron, dread pirates, and moving castles. She claims that she knows only two things well in life, one is Sailer Moon’s opening theme song and the other is books. She has a particular interest in staring at the stars in the night skies and says that she can stare at them for long hours.

Author Poston completed her graduation from the South Carolina University. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in the English subject. Immediately after her graduation, Poston developed an interest in Romantics. She fell in love with it so much so that she engrossed herself in it completely. Poston loves adventures a lot and always likes to indulge herself in one or the adventure. Whenever she cannot get her hands on the next great adventure, Poston likes to spend time at her rural house along with her bossy pet cat. Author Poston thinks that the animals are the firm believers that the humans are nothing but weirdos who look at the others like them and ask for usernames. During her spare times, author Poston can be seen lurking around in the coffee shops around her hometown. She loves to play video games and read numerous fan-fiction works. Her fondness of video games has turned her into an addict. She always looks to get her hands on the latest video games that arrive in the market. Poston’s books are mainly directed at the teens of this generation.

The Radio Hearts book series written by Ashley Poston is comprised of two books in total, which were released between the years 2013 and 2016. The first book of this series is entitled ‘The Sound of Us’. It was released in the year 2013 by the Bloomsbury Spark publication. Author Poston has described the story’s plot to have taken place in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, United States, during the years 2007 and 2013. The main character of the story is depicted as Junie Baltimore, who is described as an 18 year old music loving girl. At the start of the story, it is depicted that the famous pop band of America, Roman Holiday, has gone down badly and the band members have also separated. Junie Baltimore used to listen to their rock music and the band was her favorite one too. Later, while enjoying her summer vacation Junie comes across the sexy former lead singer of the Roman Holiday band hiding on the boardwalk. This discovery adds a new twist in the vacation plans of Junie and goes on to become the year’s cover story. Junie Baltimore shows the willingness to keep the singer a secret on his request. But, when a man comes to know about her discovery and offers her cash, Junie lands in a dilemma. She cannot let the singer’s secret out and at the same time needs the money to save the bar left behind by her father. Junie is not able to decide what she should do in such a situation. Later, she realizes that she has fallen in love with the lead singer and decides to follow her heart for a solution to her situation.

The next book written and published in the series is called ‘We Own the Night’. It was published in 2016 by the same publisher who published the first book. The plot takes place in Steadfast, Nebraska, and features the main characters as Ingrid North and Micah. At the beginning of the book’s story, it is shown that Ingrid North is an eighteen year old teenage girl, who works in a candy store during the day, and as a deejay on the radio by the name of Niteowl during night time. Her life seems to have been stuck between these two jobs. Ingrid wishes to move out of her small hometown and fulfill her dreams. But, every time she tries to take a step forward, the troubles of small town get in her way. Ingrid does not have the courage to leave behind her best friend named Micah or her grandmother suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. But, when she becomes Niteowl on every Saturday night, Ingrid escapes all her worries for the time being. Every listener loves to hear her voice as Niteowl. Her fearlessness and funny character are appreciated by one and all. One particular caller calls her very often and amuses her with his snarky humor and raspy laugh. Ingrid finds this caller sexy enough to forget about Micah. Even though she does not feel being in love with Micah, she still feels like taking her mind off him when talking to sexy caller. Ingrid North learns that her grandmother’s condition has deteriorated even more and the fact about Micah’s new dating habits breaks her from within. She looks to the Brooding and Dark caller to lean on. However, she realizes that she has fallen down the rabbit hole comprising of tabloid headlines, bubble tea like kisses, and punk rock stars. The caller’s reality could surprise her in right as well as wrong ways, if she finds out. Amidst all this, Ingrid North finds that her actual life starts when she goes off air as Niteowl. The characters and plot depiction of this book were highly appreciated by the readers throughout the world. Author Poston was praised for coming up with such an original story. The critics and fans gave nice reviews to the book, which helped it in becoming immensely successful.
