Beth Wiseman is an American bestselling author of the novel series Land of Canaan and Daughters of the Promise. Her publications have made over 1.5 million unit sales globally and also have held spots in Christian Book Association and Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) bestseller. She has received numerous awards such as Carol awards in the year 2011 and 2013. Also, she is a three-time winner of the Inspirational Readers’ Choice Award and also INSPY Award Winner.
The first book in Land of Canaan series was nominated as the Women of Faith Book of the year in 2011. HarperCollins Christian Publishing contracted Beth Wiseman up to the year 2018, and she has published thirteen novellas and thirteen novels up to date.
Beth Wiseman is also a former newspaper reporter, and during her time of service in print media, she was honored with eleven journalism awards and also ranked number one for news writing by the Texas Press Association. As a former member of the 1960 Sun in Houston, she had a wide variety of articles published. However, due to her passion for writing novels, Beth Wiseman left the journalism job in 2008 and became a full-time writer.
Beth Wiseman has a deep connection with the Amish, (a group of traditionalist Christians with Swiss Anabaptist origins) for their simple way of life. She plans to continue with the writing of Amish love stories novels while still venturing into other areas of writing.
She published her first non-Amish book Need You Now in 2012 and was listed as the best CBA Bestseller; other include The House that Love Built which is based on Smithville Town where movies such as Tree of Life and Hope Floats were filmed.
Beth Wiseman lives with her husband in Texas, with a rooster and three dogs. She loves to travel, enjoy time with family and friends, and paint where she is not into writing.

1. Plain Promise- this is a story of a young Amish widow by the name Sadie Fisher who leads a simple and a quiet life in the countryside of Lancaster County. Sadie Fisher is a trades goods with local tourists. Though her life is right, she still wonders whether it is the will of God for her to remain without a family and a husband.
In Pennsylvania, winters can be freezing and lonely. However, Sadie Fisher is delighted when a person rents her cottage for three months. Englischer Kade Saunders happen to be the renter and Fischer is not quite sure whether she wants him in her cottage for that long due to the watchful eye of the bishop who expects where to act regarding the Ordnung, the Amish way of life. To sour things up, Kade is made custody of a five-year-old autistic son, Tyler whom he barely knows.
Sadie and Tyler sudden form a deep connection, and Sadie begins to love and care for this exceptional child. Her feelings for young boy father, Kade immediately grow into something that terrifies as well as exhilarates her. At the same time, Kade begins to feel some attraction for Sadie as well.
Despite the mutual feelings the duo have for each other Sadie must stay true to her Amish beliefs while denying the love she feels is almost impossible. Could this be Gods plan for better future for Sadie? Will she dare to step into a love bigger than she ever imagined being possible?
The author, Ms. Wiseman vividly brings out the real life challenges that people face simply because of religion versus love. The characters of this incredible novel are so real to life that you will love reading every single bit of it till the end.
2. Plain Pursuit
On a visit to her friends Family on a farm in Amish Country, Carley Marek experiences some culture shock. As Carley is enjoying the peaceful and quiet nature of the open community, Lillian and Samuels’s son get sick. Also, the only doctor who can help the sick has been shunned by the community and forbidden to intervene in any manner. David, Samuels sons conditions deteriorate, however, the doctor must do whatever it takes in his capacity to save the young boys life. Carley Marek is caught in between- she is drawn to Dr. Noah and want him to help in this situation, and at the same time she is confused by the talk of the people in the community about a God she neither understands nor trusts.
Therefore it is upon Carley to decide what is worth pursuing in life and what to do when she fall in love at the time she never expected.
This book is quite exciting and educative; the characters are quite engaging and entertaining to read.
3. Seek me with all your heart- Some of the Amish people are trekking to Colorado in search of cheaper lands while others are fleeing from strict bishops back in their homes. However, for Emily Detweiler and her family have personal reasons for moving to Colorado. Back in Ohio, something happened to her that made her doubt everything that she believed was firm inclusive of her faith. Due to this reason, her family decides to relocate to a small Amish area in Canaan, Colorado where they think that distance will eventually help them erase their painful memories.
David Stoltzfus and his family moved to Canaan, Colorado for reasons they seem not to understand. However, Canaan is turning out to be the opposite of what they all anticipated. Fearing that a particular health condition is likely to shorten his life span, David makes arrangements to go back to his home in Pennsylvania as soon as possible. David meets Emily and immediately develops feelings for her despite his unknown future.
Emily soon develops feelings for David. However, she is afraid that if he will reject her if she tells him about her past. Will this love nurture in these current situations? Will Emily revelation of her dark past be the binding factor between the two?
The novel is entertaining to read, and the author clearly brings out an understanding that with Gods help and the love from friend and family, anyone can overcome personal tribulations and trials.
