Carlene Thompson is one of the successful authors of America who likes to write most of his novels based on the suspense genre. She has written a number of standalone novels in her writing career, many of which have gone on to be acclaimed all over the world. Thompson wrote her first novel after watching the 101 Dalmation when she was just nine years old. It was titled as ‘The Mystery of the Golden Retriever’. Throughout the years that followed in her life after that, she produced some of the excellent novels in the suspense genre. Author Thompson is of a very caring nature and loves to look after her pet animals. She always makes sure that she includes at least one pet from her group of pet animals in each of her books. This considers it a ways of immortalizing them. She says that she got the idea of her first published novel while she was walking her pet dogs in the woods located nearby her house. The novel went on to be called as ‘Black for Remembrance’ and was released in the year 1991. Many of the novels written by author Thompson include romantic elements along with the usual suspense and take place in her home town in Parkersburg, West Virginia, United States. It is the same place where Thompson was born on January 01, 1952.

During that time, the Korean War was going on and her father was serving in the American Army. Later, she moved to Point Pleasant in southwestern West Virginia along with her family. The author says that she has developed her love towards the pet animals because of her father, who was actually a doctor in the general practice. Thompson still remembers how her father used to get calls in the nights for delivering babies in emergency cases. Many a times, people did not have money to pay fees so they would hand him a pet or a kitten and ask him to take it and give to his daughter. This way author Thompson was able to make a huge collection of pet animals. She used to get delighted after the addition of each and every member of her pet collection. During the 1960s, author Thompson moved to Ohio with her family as her father had decided to become a specialist in Radiology from the Ohio University. In the mean time, she completed her graduation from the Marshall University in the subject of English. She followed it up with a master’s degree and then a PhD from the Ohio University.

After that, she began teaching at the Rio Grande University. After doing it for a period of 6 years between 1983 and 1989, Thompson quit her teaching job and decided to become a full time writer. Author Thompson became fond of mysteries after watching Walt Disney’s 101 Dalmatians at the age of 9. She says that it was full of suspense and danger. At the same time, Thompson wrote her first novel, but she was unlucky as no publisher agreed to publish it, and still it remains unpublished. However, author Thompson did not stop writing. For a short period of time, she even tried short stories for several magazines, but faced rejection there too. Luckily for her, she was bale to write an intriguing suspense story under the Black for Remembrance novel and was able to get a publisher. From then on, her writing career has experienced a boom and she began getting writing jobs quite frequently. Most of her novels are set in the towns of West Virginia and feature her pet animals. Author Carlene Thompson feels a lot of fun while writing suspense novels and hopes that her readers also get as much fun in reading them.

Just one month before, Caroline was told that the burned dead body of Hayley was found. After overcoming the heartache of losing her beloved daughter and her guilt of not being able to protect her, Caroline seems to make a new start along with her husband and her second daughter named Melinda. She keeps all her focus towards Melinda thinking that she has put behind the ghosts of her past. Suddenly, the ghosts begin to appear again in her life as she discovers the favorite doll of Hayley. Also, a number of murders begin to take place in her small home town. Caroline even thinks that she had heard the voice of her lost daughter. Following that, the other girls decided not to tell anyone about what had actually happened. After a period of 13 years, the remaining girls from group come to know that someone is trying to kill them. A successful actress from New York City named Angie becomes the first one to die. I can’t always find your books in large print. I am 80 years old and your books are my very favorite. You are a great writer. I would love to meet you. I am trying to collect all your books in large print, but when I order some of them, I get a regular print. The regular print is hard for me to read. I hope you will write more books.

I absolutely love your books. You can guess and guess who did the crime but will still be wrong. I also love how you use towns in West Virginia as in your books as I myself have lived here my entire life so I can really visualize scenes in the books. The problem I have is you can’t find them in any of the stores around where I live. Love em and keep em coming.
