Carole Matthews was born in Liverpool. Right from her childhood, she loved reading and dreamt of becoming a teacher or a tour guide. After some time, she left Liverpool and headed towards London. There she did numerous jobs including working as a shop assistant and as a secretary. While she was working in a clinic, she decided to take up writing as her profession.

She has written 28 romantic novels. ” The Chocolate Lovers” is one of her most popular series. Apart from that, she has also written many famous novels like ” Welcome to the Real World”.

Her writing skills has earned her several awards and recognition throughout her career. She has featured many times in the Bestsellers List of Sunday Times. She was also nominated for the prestigious RNA romantic novel of the year award.

The ” Chocolate Lovers ” series is one of the most popular series by Carole Matthews. The first book of this series is titled ” Chocolate Lovers Club”. The story revolves around four female characters. Lucy is one of the four characters and is the central character of this book. The story is written from her view point. She is in a long term relationship with a guy named Marcus. However, she finds out that Marcus is cheating on her. As a result, she went to the chocolate club to discuss her problems with her friends. There we are introduced to the other characters. Autumn is a single girl and is addicted to drugs. She is also extremely fond of dark chocolate. We are also introduced to Nadia who has a young kid. Finally, we meet Chantal. She is a very confident and independent women. However, just like Lucy, she also has troubles with her boyfriend. The one thing common between them is their love for chocolates. They frequently meet at the chocolate club to help each other out with their problems. According to them, chocolate is able to cure everything in the world and they can face any problem.

The best thing about this book is its realistic story line. A similar story can easily happen in the real life. Carole has also brilliantly portrayed the characters. All of them are completely different from each other and you will be able to connect with each of them. It is a great story of friendship. It is quite amazing how four completely different characters are united by their love for chocolates. The chocolate club described in this book by Carole is also extremely beautiful. You will feel like going there. Overall, it is a very good read and chocolate lovers will definitely love it.

The second book of this series is titled ” Chocolate Lovers Diet”. The story here is pretty much similar to the previous book. We are once again introduced to the four female characters. All of them are going through similar circumstances as mentioned in the previous book. Lucy this time is dating a guy named Aiden. However, he went to Australia and has been missing since then. Lucy suspects that he is dating another women there and won’t return. Autumn is dating Addison, her fellow worker. Their relationship is also going very smoothly. However, everything changed when her drug addicted brother, Richard came back from his rehab. Richard is a trouble making character. His presence can damage the relationship between Autumn and Addison. Nadia is having troubles with her husband, Toby who is a gambler. She has moved away from his house with her son and they are currently living with Chantal. However, she believes that Toby deserves another chance and is willing to make amends with him. Chantal is also having relationship troubles. She feels that her husband is avoiding her. Just like the previous book, all of them once gain decided to meet at the chocolate club to discuss their problems and come up with a solution.

It was great to once again meet up with the old characters. Their friendship will really inspire you. You will start thinking about your own friends and wonder whether you are this good with them or not. Surprisingly, in this book, you will find many twists and turns, which will keep you hooked. The chocolate described here is perfect. You will be dying to have a piece of it. Overall, this is a warm story of friendship and is a fine continuation to the series.

The third book of this series is titled ” The Chocolate Lovers Christmas”. Christmas and the festive season is gradually approaching. It should be a time for fun and presents, but it looks like that the four girls just can’t get rid of their troubles. Instead of buying each other presents, they are more focused on solving each others problems. Lucy is currently working too hard on her business. She doesn’t spend much time with her boyfriend Aiden and their relationship is on the verge of breaking down. The situation gets more complicated when her previous boyfriend Marcus returns. It will be interesting to find out whether her relationship survives or not. Nadia was initially willing to give her husband Toby another chance. However, she meets another guy named Jacob and is confused whether to go back to Toby or not. Chantal was having troubles with her husband, Ted. However, both of them were blessed with a little girl. Even after having a baby with Ted, Chantal was struggling to maintain her relationship. Autumn is having troubles with her personal life. However, when she got no support from her boyfriend during her troubled time, she thought of leaving him. Just like the previous times, the chocolate club was once again their meeting spot, where they will discuss their problems with each other.

Since this is a book based on Christmas, you will find plenty of Christmas references throughout the story. It adds a new dimension to the story line. The best thing about this book is how well the conversation flows between the main characters. You will feel as if you are a part of it. The dialogues are also humorous and there are many witty one lovers, which makes it a fun read. In short, this is another beautiful book by Carole and is a must read.
