Cheris Hodges started her writing career at an early age. Since she was young, she knew and had a passion for expressing her creativity into words. She graduated from Johnson C. Smith University in 1999. For many years, she has been a freelance writer in Charlotte which is based in North Carolina. She is a Bennetts Ville native, in South Carolina. Cheris has always loved hearing her readers opinions and feedback. She values her readers as they inspire here through here writing career.

1. Blissful Summer
One of Cheris popular books is the Blissful Summer. She co-authored this romantic novel with Marie Perry, another known proficient writer. The novel was published on July 2015 and is sub-categorized under African-American books. The book starts with a clear description of two locations and features two couples. As the story unfolds, readers get to experience and feel about the characters’ rekindled passion.

Main Characters
In this book, readers get to know Jansen Douglas, who is living her dream as a super model. She meets with her long time lover and who she had met in high school before. Although Jansen left him, they reunite after many years. They are about to publicly announce their plans but it is not too late for Atlanta CEO, Bradley Stephens, to interrupt. Bradley will do anything possible to stop their stormy past from claiming his only and first love.

2. Recipe for Desire
Published in 2012, this book is about Marie – a party leader and always out for fun. Although she is supported by her family to get the best from what she loves doing, she gets sentenced to community service and her father no longer available for help. This part of her life transforms her character from selfish to a loving and understanding woman. This opens her new relationship life and get to know Devon more than just a volunteer.

Main characters
This is one of the most entertaining novels in Cheris series of books. It is about party girl at the age of twenty-seven. Marie Chares is Charlotte’s party leader. Her relationship with the father gets worse when she gets a DWI arrest. At her arrest, she is sentenced 500 hours of community service. At My Sister’s Keeper Center, a shelter place for homeless women, she get busy with the sentence service and never had enough time for partying. At the same center is a renowned TV star and professional chef, Devon Harris who is a volunteer. He is not happy that Marie is joining him. He is single and finds her gorgeous but all he wants is superficial belle from southern. As the story unfolds, Marie’s character transforms for better life. Devon starts getting attracted to her and the two become fond of each other.

3. Just Can’t Get Enough
This book by Cheris Hodges was first published on January 1st 2007. It is a combination of adventure and dramatic characters. The protagonists are portrayed as full of selfless when it comes to love. This unique approach to the story leaves the readers with great urge to read more of the book.

Main Characters
Celina Hart is more than decided than she will never get involved into a relationship. This is contributed by her early life as she learned from parents that love hurts. She decides not to be committed too deep in another person. Things become different when her father is diagnosed with cancer. She rushes to his father’s side and finds herself making a vow that she will be available for him, although her father was never there for her. She acts differently by supporting the father during his illness.

Through caring for her father, she decides to hold her flourishing art career. That is when the unexpected happens. Darius McRae, the man next door is attracted by Celina’s looks. The man is anxious to see the future of their relationship by all means, even if it will take forcing Celina to face her past.

4. His Sexy Bad Habit
This book was published on January 2011. It has a total of 384 pages and is about a handsome, single man who has not been dating for three years since his wife died. All the years, he had concentrated on business and providing the best for his son. However, there is a new woman in town who change everything.

Main Characters
Antonio Billups is determined to have the best for his son, A.J., after his wife’s death. For the past three years since his wife’s demise, he has never been into a relationship and is fully focused in life with one goal. Everything changes when Serena Jacobs gets into the town.Serena looks are not that bad for Antonio and he has to change his mind about being alone.

Serena’s new hotel business improves fast and so is her relationship with Antonio. However, her past is about to shut her business dreams. Later on, both of them face their past which prevents them from being together. The moment their secret histories make a negative impact in their lives, they have no option but to face reality and choose between a lovely future or just future.

Cheris Hodges Early books
This writer has a number of books in the series and the list above comprise of just a number. Since she started writing at a very young age, some of her books were published earlier than others. A good example of her early books include these two:

i) Searching for Paradise which was published on March 2001. The book’s story line is about a couple’s journey to paradise that leaves the reader breathless. Kenya and Drew believed that paradise is not in man’s arms but inside an individual. As the two search for the hidden aspects of life, they learn about the truth that exists in their line.

ii) Revelations is yet another early book in Cheris’ list of publications. The book is based on a story about magazine writer, Shari Walker, who gave up love life after the death of her fiance. Nevertheless, she still has his ring on and keeps the sweet memories. The story takes another direction when Shari is working on a main story and meets the playboy, Malik Green. The two have their differences but that does not stop their romance to blossom.

With every book holding unpredictable life experiences, the characters get to accepted their past and have a bright future. Love is a strong bond for any human to live without and Cheris outlines how people need each other to fulfill what would not be achievable in life.
