But, Sloane does not let go of the possibility of a murder. After some more investigations, Sloane Monroe seems to be getting closer to prove that the woman was murdered. Just as she is about to solve the case, another dead body is discovered. By this time, the killer also seems to have become alert, knowing that Sloane will not stop until she catches him. At the start of this novel, it is depicted that Sloane Monroe has solved each and every case that came her way, except for one, which is her sister Gabrielle’s brutal murder. She has not been able to catch the killer, so far in spite of all the efforts. Three years in the case and she could not find any trace of the murderer. But soon, Sloane comes to know about the murder of another woman in a similar manner as her sister’s. She goes on to discover the dead body of this woman in front of a local supermarket. With the arrival of this case, Sloane faces the toughest challenge of her sleuthing career, that is, finding the killer who seems to be a master at keeping his identity hidden before capturing his next victim. The Park City in Utah was considered to be a peaceful place before the arrival of the brutal murderer named Sam Reids. He has a typical style of killing his victims. After killing the innocent women, Sam makes a cut of the letter S on their wrists and discards their dead bodies in the open. Sloane Monroe tries to find the answers to all her questions as to why the killer preys on the innocent women. But, she could only know this after catching Sam Reids. The thought of her sister’s brutal murder does not let her rest with a peaceful mind and this makes her even more determined to catch him and make him pay for his deadly crimes.
