Cynthia Baxter is one of the highly successful and noteworthy authors from America, who likes to write her novels based on the mystery, horror, romance, thriller, young adult, and women’s fiction genres. She is particularly well known for writing down popular novel series, including the Reigning Cats and Dogs Mysteries, Pratt Twain series, etc. Author Baxter began her writing career by writing romantic, teen, horror, and women’s fiction books under the pseudonym of Cynthia Blair. Other than being a popular novelist, Baxter has also written for a number of famous magazines and newspapers. She has also taught the art of writing at the Hofstra University. Author Baxter became a published author by writing under her pen name in the year 1981, with the release of her novel titled ‘Once There Was A Fat Girl’. However, with her original name, she debuted in the year 204 with the book titled ‘Dead Canaries Don’t Sing’. Author Baxter primarily uses her original name for writing cozy mystery novels as well as for the reissue of some of her out of print titles. Author Baxter very much likes the fact that it becomes very easy to interact with the readers on the internet. For this purpose, she has developed her personal website.

The most favorite thing that Baxter likes is reading books, and writing is secondary to it. Since the year 2003, she has been writing her popular mystery series, ‘The Reigning Cats and Dogs’. This series features the chief protagonist in the form of a veterinarian named Jessica Popper. The other popular characters depicted in the series include Max, Lou, Catherine, Prometheus, Leilani. All these secondary characters are the pet cats and dogs living with Jessica Popper in her house. All the pets get involved in some or the other mystery case throughout the series and helped Jessica find the clues related to the mysteries. One of the other popular book series written by author Baxter is known as ‘The Murder Packs A Suitcase’ series. This series runs concurrently with her other mystery series and features the lead character in the form of Mallory Marlowe. Mallory is described by the author as a 45 year old widow, who struggles to discover her old self as she begins a new job of travel writing. She spends her time researching about exciting destinations all around the world and occasionally coming across murders. Mallory cannot prevent herself from getting involved in those cases in order to find the murderers. The first two of this mystery series are set in Orlando and Aspen. Author Baxter says that it has been an interesting challenge for her to work on two different series at the same time. She also says that she has tried to develop the two series in different ways, but purposely writes them at the same time, so as to include similar elements for the readers to read and enjoy. The common themes of her mystery series include a likeable female protagonist, an interesting story with several surprises, a romantic touch, and loads of humor. Author Baxter always looks forward to the reaction of the readers towards her new adventures and new characters. She likes to interact with her readers and fans regularly and hear from them about her recent releases. The readers not only post directly on her personal website, but also interact with her through her mail and various other promotional contents online.
