Donna Grant is a New York Times and the USA Today bestselling author. She has also in the past received several praise for her totally addictive, sensual and completely unique stories. To date, she has successfully authored and released more than twenty novels spanning multiple genres mainly romance. Her latest acclaimed series Dark kings is slightly different from her precious works in the sense that it features a fairly thrilling combination of dragons, Immortal highlanders and Fae all of whom are dark, dangerous and strangely irresistible. Donna lives with her two children and her pet animals in Texas.

Dark King Series Review

Dark kings is Donna’s latest release, it serves as a spinoff of the dark warriors and the dark Sword series. Commonly referred to as the Dragon kings several years ago, The men of power featured in Dark kings have the ability to shift into dragons as well. They have ruled over other creatures for several years. They ruled right until when humans finally arrived and they continued providing protection to them until they were betrayed and thousands of the dragons ended up being killed. Things got worse after it emerges that the betrayal came from a women being who had previously take a vow to love one of the Dragon kings. As a result, the dragon kings choose to withdraw their power from the world as well as from humans. In spite of this however, a new evil seems to awaken the laid back Dark kings who are hesitant to join an ongoing way but are reluctantly being draw in.

Frankly speaking from a personal level, reviewing the storyline of a novel is never my favorite doing since I consider it a giveaway of too many spoilers which to me make the novel less interesting for readers who get a chance to read the reviews before going through the actual book series. That being the case, in this review I intend not to dwell on any details and instead focus on some of the reasons why you should make a point of reading Donnas’ latest book series.

First off, I notice that as the storyline starts off, each and every episode reveals a little more information about what to expect from the characters as well as generally from the book in terms of the follow up installments. For instance, burning desire is brought out as a continuation of the dragon kings storyline (for those who have read Donna’s previous novels) spanning up to 75 pages in length. Dawn’s desire is another installation in this series which caught my attention. Donna did a very good job writing it since I found it to be another fast paced and very fascinating storyline in the series. It is equally worth noting that since three of the Dreagan dragons finally got mates, readers should expect the start of an extended family. I also must applaud Donna’s efforts towards the inclusion of as much background information. I must admit, I couldn’t help myself from falling in love with the dragons from the Scottish Highlands. As strange as it may sound, as the story continues, the Dragon kings continue to reassure themselves that there no longer is a threat. Overall, this installation of the series is a lovely romantic fantasy that is marred by a lot of love and light hearted great story line.

The next title in the series, Night awakening was also characteristic of a fast paced and intriguing storyline. It revealed more details of the Dragon King History while at the same time providing a re-cap f the information initially revealed in the first storyline of Dark craving. I greatly applaud Donna for including finer details in the story line. In fact, it is these details which helped keep my glued to the novel through to completion. I guarantee you that; you too stand to be stuck to reading the book once you go through the detail descriptions of the scenes. At the same time I strongly discourage reading the book series out of order. Doing so will throw you off the story line. As a result you stand to miss out on crucial clue scattered by the author throughout the book. Simply put, reading the book out of order significantly reduces your chances of ever making any connection between the individual installations as intended by the author.

In fire rising. Another installation and part of Dark king series, the author introduces a twist of event merging the three worlds of the most popular series. Readers are also introduced to another look at the couple in the novel who love has been growing gradually but in this case as they work together to save a woman who might not be having any links to them whatsoever. Overall, Donna does an impressive job making the storyline seductive, intriguing and most importantly featuring compelling action scenes. This installment is best described as being powerful, icy and downright sinful as evident through the chapters.

In the Dark flame installment, Donna features everything paranormal. This is clearly evident from the presence of supernatural heroes, suspense, passion and captivating storyline to accompany reader from start to the end. I must also admit that the author did a very good job with all the supporting characters picked out from the previous books and installments to make this installment truly captivating.

Soul scorched besides being an amazing story featuring a variety of well developed characters and extremely imaginative plot that is least predictable is a recommendation for paranormal fans. The installment is different from the rest in the sense that it features political intrigue couple by double crossing in the enemy camp all of which is fascinating taking into consideration the manner in which the author brings it out. I must admit, having read through to this installment the author did an impressive job in preparing me for the battle bound to ensue.

Everything taken into consideration, Dark kings is enough proof of the writing prowess of Donna grant. She is clearly an author with experience and has proven beyond reasonable doubt to be more than capable of coming up with an extremely wonderful read. In dark kings, she gives a marvelous story of Kellan and Danae. Personally having gone through her novels, I highly recommend you take the time and money to read the series for your self.
