Bill Rogers is a renowned author, who is widely known for the DCI Tom crime thriller series. The DCI Tom Caton is a crime thriller book series has been set in the city of Manchester, England. The first novel in the DCI Tom Caton book series is titled The Cleansing. The Cleansing was nominated for Long Barn book awards and also emerged the winner during the ePublishing Consortium Writers Award for its exceedingly unique cover design, writing and publishing as well. A Trace of Blood is the sixth book in the DCI Tom Caton book series was shortlisted for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. Bill Rogers’s detective series is characterized by his meticulous research, attention to detail and vast knowledge and understanding of police procedures.

While conducting research for his novels, Bill Rogers goes as far as visiting the places that will be featured in his novels, taking a notebook and camera along with him so that he can capture the atmosphere and scenes as well. By doing this, the author can lend a refreshing authenticity to his settings and descriptions in his novels. Apart from the DCI Tom Caton book series, Bill Rogers has also written a collection of novellas and short stories, titled Breakfast at Katsouris. He has also published a novel that is targeted towards the young adult market. Another excellent read by Bill Rodgers is the Cave, which is the story about a group of teenagers who are not only trapped but also thrown on their resources. This is after one of the tunnels that they were exploring collapses. Before he became an author of fiction, Bill Rodgers had several works to his credit in the field of education.

He served as a Principal Inspector of Schools, a Judge at the teaching awards and the Head of Manchester School’s Improvement Service. For more than four years, Bill Rogers served as a panelist and a program consultant for Which Way an exceedingly popular ITV program.

The Cleansing is the first book in the DCI Tom Caton book series. As the first book in the series, the author introduces the reader to the protagonist, DCI Caton. Christmas is approaching, and a killer who is dressed as a clown is causing havoc on the streets of Manchester City. According to the killer, the miraculous regeneration had unacceptable consequences. A victim is found murdered and mutilated beyond recognition. The case falls on DCI Tom Caton lap, and he approaches the exceedingly beautiful Kate Webb for assistance. Caton is not only able to identify the victim, but he is also unable to identify the killer as well. However, the reader is full aware who the killer is, one Albert Stephen since from time to time the book switches from what Albert Stephen is doing to what detective Tom Caton is doing.

It does not take long before the victim’s identity is revealed. As expected, this would have been a breakthrough in the case. However, Tom and Kate are unable to find any MO. The strangest thing about this case is that the killer is fully aware of the CCTV and does not try to hide or destroy them. With that said, The Cleansing is a well-written book. All the characters in this book are not only well developed but also likable as well. Irrespective of the fact that so many characters have been introduced in this novel, the author Bill Rogers did not lose track of any of them. Head Case is the second book in the DCI Tom Caton book series. In this book, we are introduced to Cole Cohen, a 26-year-old girl, who has been struggling with learning disabilities throughout her entire life. No one was able to point out what was causing her learning disabilities. Cole could not differentiate between left and right. She was also exceedingly horrible in mathematics and also telling time as well.

Whenever an object was coming towards her, Cole Cohen could not tell exactly how fast the object was coming. As Cohen was planning to move away from her state, she decided that it was a higher time to do a series of tests for the last time, to see whether the doctors would be able to tell exactly what was wrong with her. After an MRI had been performed, the main reason for her disorder was established. A fluid filled hole was discovered on her brain, occupying more than ¼ of her brain. However, Cole is informed that there was no cure for her ailment. From this point on, the narrative chronicled how Cole coped up with her difficulties. With that said, this superbly written book is not only amazing but also uplifting as well. Tiger’s Cave is the third book in the DCI Tom Caton book series.

In Tiger’s Café, twelve bodies are found. The funny thing is that the 12 bodies are not connected, and the police are not able to find any motive. Later on, a lorry that is full of Chinese immigrants arrive, and more than twenty hours later, the bodies are found lose to a motorway. Upon close inspection, it is discovered that a young man and woman are missing and are risk as well. Supported by an Organised and Serious Crime Agency, Caton should travel all the way to China so that he could pick up the trail. However, despite the fact that Caton has to travel away from home, he knows the solution to this mystery lies close to home. From the look of things, an exceedingly cold case is about to get hot. With that said, Tiger’s cave is an exceedingly fast read. The story is not only complex but also very believable as well. It is well written, and since this is the third book, the characters are getting more and more developed.

A Fatal Intervention is the fourth book in the DCI Tom Canton book series. In this book, the readers meet once again with Tom Caton. The author introduces a new character Rob Thornton, one of the most promising barristers in Manchester city. Thornton has a reputation for prosecuting wife beaters, expects, and rapists as well. One day, Tom hears a knock on the door. The local police had arrived with a warrant for his arrest. What could be the main reason why Rob Thornton was arrested?
