Deanna Chase is an American writer born in California that writes in the New Adult Fiction, Urban Fantasy, and Paranormal Romance genres. A native of California, Deanna who cites traveling as one of her favorite pastimes spent five years traveling the United States in an RV with her husband, before settling in a small cottage in a small town near New Orleans.
Six months into their residency in their little cottage, Deanna started writing her first novel Bourbon Street, inspired by her conviction that her 1907 house was haunted. She would often hear heavy footsteps in the rooms all over the house, though the ghosts appeared harmless. In a touch of humor, she asserts that the ghost would do nothing more than make some weird noises, and maybe smoke a few cigarettes.
Having gotten used to the fast-paced life in her native California, being transplanted to the slower pace of New Orleans was quite a change. Nonetheless, the shift to the quieter southeastern Louisiana is what made Deanna Chase the writer that she is. The quiet house and neighborhood provided for moments of contemplation and solitude that allowed her to write.
While she proclaims that writing is her first love, when she is not producing another New York Times Bestseller she may be found making glass beads to sell on Etsy, playing with her two shi tzu dogs, or goofing around with her husband. She also loves traveling though she does not do it as much now that she writes full time.
She currently has ten books published with the most popular the Bourbon Streets series. The series was launched with her first book ever Haunted on Bourbon Street. She has gone on to write other series that have achieved critical and commercial success

Nonetheless, when the ghost moves up from giving Jade a scare and starts terrorizing Pyper her exotic dancer friend, Jade knows that she must move in to rid her friend of the menace. However, she soon realizes that she would need the help of Kane, yet the sting from his betrayal is still raw. Could she find it in herself to trust Kane and work with him before Pyper falls victim to the ghost’s machinations?
Deanne Chase introduces the character and takes the book at a slow pace which picks up as she interweaving the different storylines to end with a gutsy finale. Combining empaths, ghosts, witches and even angels, the author succeeds in making a thrilling tale of New Orleans interspersed with a tale of good versus evil.

Reading the Haunted on Bourbon Street novel, one feels almost transplanted into the haunted locations in the center of New Orleans. She expertly builds up the characters, developing and fleshing out even the minor characters that really serves to create a connection with the story.
This is one paranormal mystery that is made even more thrilling with the sprinkle of a reluctant romance that will surely sate any paranormal romance fan. While it is a quick read, it comes with a brilliant introduction of the character Jade Calhoun setting the stage for what is sure to be a great series.
Summary of Witches of Bourbon Street by Deanna Chase
The second book of the Haunted Street series, Witches of Bourbon Street continues to tell the tale of Jade Calhoun the empath. Jade has always wanted to keep her empath abilities a secret, but in this book she finds out that she may now have to keep two abilities secret – she also has magical powers. This is difficult to do, particularly when Bea her mentor suddenly falls ill and asks that only Jade help her in fighting the illness. She either has to let her mentor die or embrace her witch side and save the life of her mentor and in the process let out her secret.
Having spent almost a decade avoiding empaths, witches, and the magic society, she needs to learn how to harness her powers fast, if they are to be of any use. With time running out, a trapped spirit appears to her long lost mother and tells her that the resident angel has abandoned his post and taken off with Jade’s boyfriend Kane. To make matters worse, it seems that Kane is possessed. If she is to save any of them, she has to learn to harness her inner white witch while at the same time fighting against black magic. If she fails in her quest, she not only stands to lose her loved ones, but her soul as well.
Starting at a slow pace, the book at first seeks to reconnect with the happenings and characters from book one. As it moves along, Deanna Chase starts to move things along quite briskly, introducing several twists and turns to move the story forward and to flesh out the characters. She introduces far more characters who are more involved with the main character Jade Calhoun that makes for a more complete narrative.
The novel shows the continuing development of Deanna Chase as a paranormal romantic novelist. Jade having to face up to getting exposed or letting her loved ones die makes for one explosive finale. Chase skilfully weaves everything together to culminate in this one do or die situation that she choreographs like the expert choirmaster that she is.
The second book is definitely better than the first one especially since it creates a better connection with the reader through character development. Similar to the first book of the series, this gripping read epitomizes what we have come to expect from Deanna Chase.Book Series In Order » Authors » Deanna Chase
