Jennifer Beckstrand is one of the noteworthy authors of America who has written many successful novels and series in the Christian and Romance genres. She has received many accolades in her writing career for her frequent contribution towards the English literature. She says that she was very much inspired by the works of the authors William Shakespeare, Orson Scott Card, and Jane Austen right from her childhood days, because of which she grew up with a constant diet of the successful writings of these authors. After developing an interest in literature, she decided to complete her graduation on the subject of mathematics. Jennifer says that it comes in handy whenever she is required to help her 6 children in their homeworks. She had not started writing professionally until the birth of her 4th daughter. Before that, she was just an avid reader and aspiring writer. Being surrounded by so many children forced Jennifer to get indulged in various activities like changing diapers, giving music lessons, playing soccer games. By juggling in between these activities, she was able to somehow complete her first manuscript. Eventually, it took her 14 years to finally complete it from the time she began writing it. Author Jennifer says that she has always been fascinated by the Amish culture and their way of living. Due to this, she began writing inspirational romance novels featuring the Amish community.

Jennifer is mostly impressed by their strong faith and admires the importance they give to endure their family ties. In order to study the Amish cultures and their way of life close, she visited the Amish communities in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. In these places, she met with a minister, a bishop, and a few dats, children Amish mamms. After meeting with them, Jennifer has become even more impressed by the Amish people. She even considers interacting with those kind people as the most rewarding and memorable experience of her life. Author Jennifer Beckstrand also has an Amish friend in the Lancaster County in Pennsylvania, who helps her to keep her facts about the Amish people straight and inspires her to write stories about them. Jennifer considers her only goal as an author to write inspiring and uplifting stories with hopeful messages and happy endings. She believes that if the readers feel like giving them a big hug or jump up for joy after reading her novels, then she has done her job very well. Being a well known author has allowed Jennife the chance of becoming a member of the RWA and the Christian Fiction Writers of America associations. The Forever After in Apple Lakes series written by Jennifer consists of 3 Amish romances. Presently, she has worked on a total of 6 Amish romances with the Kensington Books publishing house. Another Amish series written by her is based on the life of an elderly Amish couple, who try and help their grandchildren to find their perfect mates. The series is known by the name The Matchmakers of Huckleberry Hill. Author Jennifer has a total of 4 daughters and 2 sons in her family along with 3 son-in-laws and a couple of beautiful grandsons. She lives along with her husband and one of her sons in the Wasatch Front.

One of the novel series written by author Jennifer Beckstrand is the ‘Forever After in Apple Lake’ series. The first novel of the series published under the title ‘Kate’s Song’. It was published by the Summerside Press publishing house in the year 2012. The plot of this novel deals with the lives of the main characters Kate Weaver and Nathaniel King. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Kate Weaver is depicted as being raised in her Amish community. She was expected by everyone to choose the path of baptism and follow observance of the rules of Ordnung strictly. However, Kate finds out that she has been blessed with a beautiful and melodious singing voice. Soon, she is attracted to another path that leads her to the vocal training academy. As a result, Kate Weaver struggles to understand what has God decided as about her life. After she returns back to Apple Lake, she gets haunted by an extremely violent encounter with one of her fellow students. Kate finds herself attracted towards the peace and harmony of her Amish home. Now, it is to be seen whether she will give up her dream of becoming a singer or whether she will go on to become a singer and get separated from her Amish ways of peaceful living. Another character named Nathaniel King, who seems to have never wavered his commitment towards the Amish community and the Old Amish Church, where he is baptized. Nathaniel has been loving Kate secretly for a long time and therefore he finds himself devastated after learning that she has left Apple Lake and gone on to attend the academy. On her return, he begins to think whether she will keep her hopes alive or she will break his heart forever.

The second novel of the series was published by the Summerside Press publishing house in the year 2012. It was titled ‘Rebecca’s Rose’. The plot of the novel revolves around the lives of the main characters Rebecca Miller and Levi Cooper. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Rebecca Miller is depicted as taking care of her Amish house, farms, and her siblings after the illness of her mother. At times, she feels as if she has been trapped, but seems determined to fulfill the promise that she had to one of her friends at the time of his death. After a short while, Rebecca Miller meets a boy named Levi Cooper, who has very good looks and a sense of mischief in his eyes. Levi seems to be the right person who could help her keep her promise. He was born in an Amish family and lived in the Amish community, but after the death of his father, his mother got married to an Englisher. Due to this, they were expelled from the Amish community and were forced to live the rest of their lives as Englishers. He seems to be haunted by the painful memories from his past and goes on a path that leads to self-destruction. It is then that he meets with Rebecca Miller. Levi finds Rebecca very beautiful and develops an attachment towards her. But, if she will get attached to him, everything in her Amish life will be lost. Levi seems to be keeping some secrets that might separate him from her forever.
