Joyce Tramel is an American female author who specializes in writing Mystery and Detective crime novels. Before she started writing novels, she was for a police secretary for about 10 years where more than once she had been envisioning the demise of some of her co-workers. To keep herself out of jail so that she doesn’t follow on her thoughts Joyce started writing stories. She is known for writing various best-selling fiction novels like the Flash Fiction that appears in Mysterical-E and some of a non-fictions which have published in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police magazine.She is a member of Pennwriters as well as Sisters in Crime.

In this book, we are introduced to the protagonist who is a young police secretary her name is Irma Jean.This young woman has been divorced for one year afters she got her husband in bed with a local barmaid. This lady is a police secretary and the ex-husband is a police officer in the same precinct so she has to work and see him every day. But in the end she meets a very handsome Irishman who is renovating the local hotel whom she starts having feelings for. She is not ready for this kind of feeling as she is afraid of being hurt by a man again. But in the end, she has to deal with trusting again.

In the book, we are also introduced to Irma Jean’s mother, a woman who has been married and divorced several times, Irma being divorced too does not want to follow in her mother’s footsteps when it comes to marriage. Irma wants to do things in her own different way which sometimes lands her in problems.The book is of its own kind being fast paced and yet filled with suspense, danger, murder and twists, plots and above all new love that will leave one riveted to their seats as they open the next page to know what happens with Irma Jean.To the suspense crime mystery lovers, and detective romance stories you will not get enough of the book. In Spite Of Murder came about because Joyce Tramel had been fired from her job as a police secretary.People had been telling her that she could write a book with a police secretary protagonist, but she could not come up with the right thing so when she fired she was angry enough to want to kill a few people off in her book thus the idea and book was born.

To Brew or Not to Brew.

This is book 1 in the Brewing trouble mystery series. The story is about Maxine short name Max who went to Germany for her Brewmaster Certification. Max is back and she is now preparing to open her own crafts brew pub in the newly revitalized section of Pittsburgh. But before her business hits the ground, trouble finds her in the form of several murders happening in her new pub.
Suspicious acts of sabotaging her business culminate in Max finding her assistant brewmaster strangled in one of the vats.Kurt Schmidt is also her Chef and now he is dead. Max has to solve a murder and look for a new assistant Brewmaster as fast as possible She also rescues a gray tabby cat whom she names Hops. She considers hiring the Handsome ex-hockey player as the new assistant brewmaster.

Someone out there is desperate enough to kill to stop Max from opening her business so she has to solve this murder as fast as possible before someone else or herself gets hurt, But being raised by a father who is a homicide detective criminal investigation comes naturally to her. She puts all effort into solving this murder before her business goes down the drain.

The book has an easy flow propelling the story along at an easy pace.There is always something happening that keeps the reader glued to the pages. The characters are funny and the cat is adorable. Even for people who don’t drink beer or know nothing about beer, the book is a must read for them.I love the way Joyce Tremel breaks down the story into very complicated twists and turns but still in a way one can quickly understand and these makes this book the best choice when reading. Every scene flows into the next seamlessly without confusing the reader and this makes her a good writer. The story is also very engaging and intriguing at the same time full suspense, intrigue, mysteries and solving murders.

The book inspires the reader’s imagination to read more and see the adventures Max has in store for them.The book is of its own kind being fast paced and yet filled with suspense, danger, murder and twists and plots that will leave one riveted to their seats as they open the next page.To the suspense crime mystery lovers, you will not get enough of the book.    I have just started reading your newest book “Dead to the Core”.
   I absolutely love it!
   I am a big fan of Amanda Flower and wished I could have gone to your gathering at the library but unfortunately, I live in Houston, Texas, an the distance was too far at this time.
