Karen Swan is one of the famous fiction authors from the United Kingdom. She has written around 10 books till now in her writing career, of which two are written under the series, ‘At Tiffany’s’. Apart from being an author, Karen has also worked as a fashion journalist. She says that before becoming a full time author, she was deeply interested in fashion designing. But, after a few years in the profession, she decided to shift her focus to the world of fiction novels. While working as a fashion journalist, Karen was attracted towards reading fiction novels. She was so much impressed by the books she read that she decided to become an author herself. As of today, author Karen Swan id happily married and lives in Sussex along with her husband and 3 children. Among the novels written by Karen, she has included two of them as a series called At Tiffany’s. All the other novels written by her are standalone novels. The first novel of the At Tiffany’s series was published in the year 2011 by the Pan Books publishing house. It was titled ‘Christmas at Tiffany’s’ and revolves around the life of the central character named Cassie. The plot of the novel depicts the life journey of Cassie in three different cities and seasons, namely, New York, London, and Paris. While traveling to different places, she tries to find a life that fits her better. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Cassie has been depicted by the author as settling down at a very young age after marrying her first boyfriend with a serious relationship. But, 10 years after her marriage, she gets betrayed by her husband and is left broken. Seeing that her marriage shattered in pieces and having no home or career of her own, she decides to work out her real self and find out where she really belongs.

Having nothing else to do in life, Cassie decides to travel to different cities of the world in order to find for herself who she is actually. She begins her year long trial by coming out of her sheltered life that she had in Scotland. Cassie moves to each of the most glamorous cities of the world, London, Paris, and New York in order to stay over there with each of her best friends one after the other. While traveling to the cities, she tries to exchange mousy hair and grouse moor for high end highlights and low carbohydrate diets. By doing so, Cassie tries to attempt tracking down the life that she had dreamed of before her broken marriage, by taking on the way of living in each of the cities. Cassie also wishes to find a man on her tour who would love her for what she is and lead a fruitful life with her for the remainder of the days of their lives. The novel proves to have every element that makes it enjoyable to read. It has romance, poignancy, passion, great friends who help in rough times, and true love. The readers were able to connect with the story of Cassie from the start to the end of the novel. They cheer the attempts of author Karen Swan in describing the miserable past and pleasant future of the world of Cassie. The main highlight of the novel is that it shows a span of one year in which Cassie’s life undergoes a drastic change, and the great friends of Cassie, who take turns to welcome her in their homes in different cities of the world. They give her a chance to experience life in ways different from what she has experienced till now. The journey allowed Cassie to have many life defining moments, eye opening experiences, and some important lessons to learn. Cassie is described by the author as being blessed to have friends like Luke, Henry, and Claude in her life.

The second novel of the ‘At Tiffany’s’ series was published in the year 2015 by the Pan Macmillan publishing house. It was titled ‘Summer at Tiffany’s. The plot of this novel continues to with the life of the central character Cassie, who seems to have found love back in her life after experiencing a broken marriage at a very young age. In the opening sequence of the plot of this novel, author Karen Swan has described the attempts of some characters of the novel to plan a wedding and of others to stop another. One of them is going to go wrong and the way it will happen can be seen in the plot description. Cassie seems to have got back love in her life in the form of Henry, who also loves her equally. She has got a Tiffany ring on her wedding finger and the only thing left to do is plan out her wedding with Henry. It appeared to be an easy task, but Henry keeps on postponing the wedding date and Cassie tries to pull it back.

On the other hand, the young and wild cousin of Henry named Gem does not seem to have any hesitations and seems to race to the aisle at a sprinting speed. She seems to be determined to get married in the same Cornish Church where her parents had also married each other. However, her family does not approve the wedding and is set against it. Cassie tries to resolve the differences and stop the marriage from happening, as it was planned. After a short while, Henry is required to go on an expedition by sailing in the Pacific in the coming summer. When Cassie learns about it, she tries to decamp to Cornwall and hopes to find her peace of mind and move forward in her life. But, while being in the caves and dunes of the northern coast of Cornwall, Cassie discovers that her past has not finished yet from her life. The novel proved to be a perfect read for the readers all over the world. Even those who had not read the first novel of the series could read and enjoy the book as it was hardly related to the plot of the first novel. The success of this novel encouraged author Swan to write more novels in the series. She is currently working on the third novel of the series and seems very enthusiastic about it.

I have all your books in my bookcase except for – the Christmas postcards and Christmas by candlelight. The last hours and the stolen hours are also on my wish list. I am always looking for your newest books.
What an amazing storyteller you are. Once I start your book, I can’t put it down.

I’m going through your books on audio. It’s great where an accent is involved. I finish one and then start another book by a different author but find each time I have to go back to the one before by you and listen to it again. Each time I find something new as I think I’m enjoying them so much that I rush them
