Katie Ashley was born and raised in the burbs of Atlanta, Georgia where she still resides to date alongside her two adored dogs. She can be easily found on Pinterest. If not, busy reading Harry Potter and Shakespeare, or watching Supernatural, Downton Abbey, and Sons of Anarchy. Oh, and did I mention she’s into Women designing and Scooby-doo?
That aside, Katie Ashley is the USA Today, Amazon, and New York Times best-selling author of the Runaway Train Series, Vicious Cycle, The Proposition Series, and several other romance titles.
Before becoming a full-time writer, Katie spent twelve cool years teaching MS and HS English in both middle and high school. She boasts a BS in High school English Education, a BA in English, and a master’s degree in English Education.
That goes without mentioning that she’s also a former cheering coach. And according to her, nothing teaches anyone more about life than being stuck in a bus with a bunch of fifteen year-olds.
Her first three-volume book series, The Proposition, skirts around a love triangle between Emma Harrison and Aidan Fitzgerald. Emma is fast-approaching thirty, and she’s afraid her ticking biological clock will soon see to it that she hits menopause without a child to call her own.
Her options are running dry, especially after her gay male friend turns her down after she asks him to be her sperm donor. Of course she could use a sperm bank. But what if one of the donor mix-ups carries the devil’s seed? That’s the road Emma is trying at all cost to avoid trailing.
Aidan steps in right on time. The problem is that he’s a womanizer and Emma just happens to be at the top of the list of the women she’d love to have a torrid fling with. Aidan is a sex God. His reputation precedes him. But Emma, you know, isn’t the type of girl to fall for that.
Emma’s best friend Connor sets the record straight by giving Aidan a heads up of the situation at hand. An opportunity huh! It has never been this easy.
Without any ado he approaches Emma with an offer he knows she probably won’t resist. He can be her sperm donor, provided he passes the sperm naturally to her—through sex, you know. Emma isn’t hacking it. Sex with Aiden, a playboy, gamer, N-yet…probably not her thing!
But Aiden isn’t the type that gives up on things without putting up a fight. He must succeed.
And succeed he does, thanks to his good charms.
Emma has agreed to let him pass the sperms to her naturally. So without wasting any more of Emma’s time, Aidan gets down to business. He’s a sex God. He knows where the G-spot and so many other tricks, just enough to make Emma reconsider her terms.
After the sex, Emma isn’t the same woman who initially was after a baby only. She wants more. She wants a relationship. And more sex. Luckily, her feelings are requited, as Aiden is attracted to her equally as much.
Aidan and Emma have some serious thing going on between them. Besides their chemistry, they have sex aplenty. You name them; desk sex, shower sex, six-nine, cowgirl sex…
Emma is convinced Aidan is the one. Aidan on the other hand, wants to be a permanent fixture in Emma’s life.
Sweet, funny, strong, fun and sexy, are some of the few words that can be used to describe Emma. Aidan, instead of turning out to be the jerk we thought he would end up being, portrays some really good qualities that we can’t help but admire, until the last few chapters of the book when he makes all readers hate him to bits.
One thing about Aidan is that he knows how to dabble with the hate you harbour for him. You’re totally in love with him one moment, and then he does something stupid the next moment that drastically transforms the love you had for him to hate. But before the hate reaches its boiling point, he makes a huge comeback, fixing whatever mess he had made earlier, and thus making you love him again.
And yes, the book has a cliff hanger that will make you want to read the subsequent release. So be prepared to read all the books in the series when you start with this.
The Runaway Train is another one of Katie’s book series that, when lined up against ‘The Proposition, we can say it’s equally riveting and action-packed.
The series spins around Abby Renard, whose plan is so simple before she chooses to complicate things. All she wants to do is join her brother’s band before the end of summer, see how things work out for her and if she’s ready for the spotlight and fame, decide if she can permanently join the band as the fourth member. So simple… until she finds herself in bed with Jake Slater, the group’s lead singer whose interest stretches to sleeping around with the women he meets at concerts.
The problem is that Jake mistakes Abby for one of his groupies that he can get down with whenever he feels like. But Abby is quick to reassure him that she didn’t get in bed with him on purpose.
Jake is a stud. None of the women she gets in bed has ever resisted his charm. Abby must be special. An angle sent straight from heaven and specifically for him.
Jake is convinced that Abby is a prude, a prissy choir girl who certainly won’t be lasting the tour bus a week. He even goes ahead to bet on it. But Abby ends up proving him wrong.
They gradually start to get along and eventually become close friends. Jake has never been attracted to a woman this much. She’s even never met a woman that he can sit down and talk to, joke with, and more importantly, compose music with. There’s some strong chemistry going on between the two.
And as the tour winds to close, their relationship gets even tighter. No one is willing to let go of the other. But can it really work? Jake is a bad boy who gets laid with whoever he wants on a whim; Abby on the other hand is a prudish country songstress who’s certainly so green on matters pertaining love. Is there even remotely a chance that things might work out for the two? Read the books to find out.Book Series In Order » Authors » Katie Ashley
