Liane Moriarty is a renown Australian author who was born in Sydney on one beautiful day of November 1966. She does chick literature, contemporary and fiction books. She is the sister to Jaclyn Moriarty, who is also an author. she is the first born in her family of 6 children. Some hours after her mum gave birth to her, in her nursery glass window, she smiled at her father. This was remarkable, as in most cases in facts cannot even focus their eyes. Being the eldest child in her family, she was the only one to own a baby book, which she oftenly refers to. According to her mother, her first word as a toddler was ‘glug’, which her mum recorded in her baby book. Liane Moriarty has a history of loving books since she was young. She had a passion to read in a way that other children cruelly kept their books away in order to hide them when she went over to play with them. She always has a routine of reading a novel before going to bed at night and this is something that she has not managed to stop since she was a child. She reads a novel for quite a long time in a hot bath prior to going to sleep. Her father once commissioned her to write him a novel, which he paid $1.00 in advance. Happily, she wrote him, ‘The Mystery of Dead Man’s Island’, a three volume epic.

Once Liane Moriarty was done with school, she overtook a career in marketing and advertising. During this period, she became quite corporate, wondering about the size of her office and other similar stuff. Being an entrepreneur, she decided to quit her job in a legal publishing company as a marketing manager, to manage her own business, ‘The Little Ad Agency’. However, this business wasn’t very successful and she later began working as a freelance copywriter, mostly dealing with advertising products. This became really successful and she enjoyed writing everything from TV commercials and websites. All this time, she wrote numerous short stories and umpteen first chapters of different novels that did not go any further from that. The reason as to why she did not proceed with the novels is because she really had a strong believe that real writers, did not actually publish their novels. However, one day, this changed and her sister Jacklyn Moriarty influenced the change. This is when she called her to tell her that her hilarious, brilliant, award winning book, ‘Feeling Sorry for Celia’ was about to go through the publication process. Due to her sister’s success, there was sibling rivalry and this challenged Liane Moriarty to write ‘The animal Olympic’, a children’s book that was later to be rejected by every Australian publisher.

After this, she made a decision to calm down and later enrolled in Macquarie University in Sydney for a Masters degree. By the time she was doing the degree, it is when she wrote her pioneer novel, ‘Three Wishes’. This novel was grabbed by Pac Macmillan for publishing and it sold in many countries around the world. Her current books have been published by the lovely people at Penguin in UK and Amy Einhorn Books in the US. She has done both adult and children’s books. She took to writing as a full time career in 2004 up to date. After writing her fifth novel ‘The Husband Secret’, two weeks later, it became number one in the New York Times bestseller. This shows how talented Liane Moriarty is.

Liane Moriarty did her first series in the year 2007. The series is entitled Space Brigade. The first book in this series is known as Earthling Ambassador while the second book in the series is known as The Shobble Secret. The series has three books so far and the final book in the series is known as War on Whimsy.

Earthling Ambassador

This is the first book in the series Space Brigade. It has 240 pages, was published in 5th March 2009 by Grosset & Dunlap publishers and has got 6 editions, which have been done in English language. This book features Nicola Berry as the main character, who only have a day to save the whole world. Nicola Berry tries to gather efforts to save the world against the annoying princess Globagaskar, who is really determined to convert the earth into her giant garbage can. However, Nicola Berry is beginning to doubt whether she is capable of handling the task, given the fact that, she is not fully armed. All she has for the task is her annoying brother, a couple of closest allies, shimlara, an unusually tall alien and an annoying archival. This is a fully enticing book that you will enjoy reading. The content in it is thrilling and you will not realize turning the last page. The shobble secret

This is the second book in the series, Space Brigade. It has 240 pages and was published the same date the first book in this series was published. The publishers are also the same and the book has just one edition. The book is a continuation of the pioneer book of the series. The book focuses on the next activity that Nicola and her space brigade engages in after returning from Globagaskar. This time, Planet Shobble is in need of their services. This planet is like paradise, having a landscape with thousand rainbows that are permanent. The planet also has pink marshmallow as natural resources together with the finest chocolate in the galaxy. However, there is a threat to this wonderful paradise as there is a sinister plot underfoot. In addition, a member of the space brigade is held hostage. Having all the marshmallow and chocolate at stake, one can only imagine what Nicola will handle the situation. what will Nicola do and how will the space brigade manage to rescue their member? Those are only questions that can only be answered once you read the book. This is just part of Liane Moriarty’s talent.
