Michele Scott is one of the popular novelists from America who likes to write mystery, thriller, young adult, and literature & fiction novels. The ‘Wine Lover’s Mysteries’ series written by her is very famous and successful. Author Scott uses the pseudonym A.K. Alexander for writing some of her thriller novels. She has encouraged by her father to become an author and she has been writing since the age of 9. Scott completed her graduation from the Southern California University. An early marriage and the birth of her son did not allow her to do much of the research work for her novels. Therefore, she had to stay at her home and write about whatever thoughts and imagination came to her mind. After struggling for around 12 years, she was finally able to get her novels published. Following that, there was no turning back for author Scott. Other than writing mystery books, author Scott enjoys horse-riding, cooking, yoga, and meditation. She owns a total of 8 horses and uses it as a common theme in her books. Scott began her writing career in the year 2005 with the publication of her book titled ‘Murder Uncorked’. The first book that she wrote under the pen name of A.K. Alexander was published in the year 2010 under the title ‘Daddy’s Home’.

Author Scott was born in San Diego, The United States, and grew up in an area located just to the east of San Diego, called as Jamul. Her parents gifted her first horse to her when she was just five years and it was at that time itself that she learned horse riding. At the age of nine, Scott realized that she had a great interest in writing. When she showed her first short story to her father, he praised her new found talent and since then, Scott has never stopped writing books and stories. Author Scott graduated with a bachelor’s degree in the subject of communications. Taking up journalism as a major subject at the university, Scott initially hoped to become a reporter. But deep inside her heart, the urge to become a fiction author was always there. But fate had something else planned for her. Scott became pregnant during the senior year of her college. As her son was born prematurely by 6 weeks, she had to stay at home and keep him under constant care. She would get a lot of free time by doing so, which she utilized to write her first novel. Author Scott contacted the Writer’s Digest and ordered a correspondence course for writing a book. During the course of the next 10 years, she kept on writing books, submitting them to publishers, attending workshops and conferences, etc. But, she faced nothing but rejections.

Scott never gave up on her hopes of publishing her own novel one day and eventually, she was signed by Jessica Faust from Bookends as a client in the year 2004. Soon after, she signed a contract with Berkley Prime for 3 books. Author Scott felt that it was a dream come true for her. The surreal and wonderful feeling enabled her to celebrate and enjoy that full night with her husband and a champagne bottle. In all, author Scott has written 8 mystery novels for the Berkley publication. Currently, she is working on her debut novel based on women’s fiction. Scott lives happily in her home located in San Diego, along with her supportive and loving husband, a couple of sons and a daughter. During her spare time, she likes to help the upcoming author. Scott has designed a learning program for young authors to teach them how to write stories. She has also developed a program for the older kids to learn how to write novellas. Scott has personally mentored a few students and says that it is a very joyful experience to watch the creativity of the young writers at work. When Scott is not writing, she likes to do horse riding or traveling with her kids in her car. She also spends time in learning how to cook and do yoga.

The Wine Lover’s Mystery series written by author Michele Scott is comprised of 7 books in total, which were released between 2005 and 2013. The series is set in Napa Valley, California, and depicts the character of Nikki Sands in the lead role. ‘Murder Uncorked’ is the first book in the series, which was published in 2005 by the Berkley Prime Crime. At the beginning of the book, it is shown that Nikki Sands is an aspiring actress, who works as a waitress in between her struggle to achieve her dream. While serving wines, she was able to impress a golden boy from Napa Valley, named Derek Malveaux. He asks her to leave her job and come to work in his vineyard. In the meantime, she forgets about her dream of becoming an actress and gets intrigued by the ripe benefits of the wine world. But, as soon as she begins her first day at her new job in the rich soil of Napa Valley, Nikki realizes something strange an unsafe. At first, she finds Derek to very much handsome and sexy. Secondly, she finds the top winemaker of the vineyard lying dead on the backside of her cottage. Nikki knows that something dangerous is happening around her and she has to get to the bottom of it before she turns up dead as the next victim.

One of the other books published in the series is titled as ‘A Killer Margarita’. It was published in the year 2013 by the D’Vine Press. As the plot of the book begins, it is shown that Nikki Sands and Derek Malveaux are married and living happily. On a bright and sunny day, Derek decides to take the family to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a Christmas vacation. There, things begin to turn dark when Nikki Sands comes across a dead body lying on the sand. Nikki does not waste any time and begins to investigate the case with the help of her sidekicks named Marco and Simon. At first, she tried to establish the identity of the victim. Soon, another dead body is discovered. The initial investigation of Nikki Sands & Co reveal that the Mexican Cartel is involved in both the murders. But, Nikki knows that proving it will be very difficult for her. However, she does not lose hope and continues to look for other evidences strong enough to make the cartel stand in the trial of their deadly crimes. Similar to the previous books in the series, this book too became very much popular and helped author Michele Scott to increase her popularity as an author of mystery novels.
