Nancy Bush is one of the well known American authors of the romantic suspense, romance, thriller, and mystery books. Some of the books written by her have been listed in the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists. Author Bush has been writing romance and romantic suspense novels for the past 30 years. She has a sister named Lisa Jackson, who is also a popular author like her. The two have collaborated with each other for writing a number of books together. Author Bush says that she and her sister started their writing career separately and went on to find a common path by writing mystery, thriller, and romantic suspense novels. The writing career of author Bush has always been eclectic. She wrote her first story after learning how young mothers were earning money smartly by writing romance books. She thought that she can also do the same thing. Therefore, she talked about it to her sister and asked her to join her in the writing world. She was herself a young mother at that time. The two sisters eventually began their writing careers and went on to become bestselling authors of the romance genre. Author Bush became a published novelist in the year 1982 with the publication of her debut novel titled ‘Dare To Love’. Her writing career initially began in the romance genre, in which she used to write both historical as well as contemporary novels. She says that she has always been a mystery buff and therefore, she used to keep adding some suspense into her plots.
In the year 2002, author Bush was chosen by the ABC Television to become a part of one of their writing groups called ‘Think Tank’. This group was given the task of developing stories for the daytime dramas of ABC. Author Bush one of the 2 writers selected from the Think Tank group, who actually became breakdown writers for one of the top rated shows on ABC, called as ‘All My Children’. During the same time, she moved to New York to join the team of AMC, while she was still working in the soap as a writer. Author Bush believes it was a great experience for her as the pressure of delivering numerous stories on a daily basis helped her to focus on and develop her writing skills. When she returned back to her home in Oregon, she began using the newly found energy into developing the kind of stories that she always wished to write, that is, mysteries. At first, she wrote a few novels in the Jane Kelly Mystery series in a period of 3 years. Following that, Bush wrote a few other book series as well in the mystery & thriller genre. During the last few years of her career, author Bush shifted her focus into writing romantic suspense novels, collaborating with her sister as well as writing on her own. Just like her sister, she has also made her way into becoming a USA Today and New York Times bestselling novelist. Quite recently, author Bush has received back the rights of a number of novels that she had written earlier in her writing career. She even got back one of her beloved series, the Danner Quartet series, in the ebook format. A number of other books written by author Bush in the contemporary romance genre have also been reformatted and updated in the form of ebooks.
One of the highly successful novel series written by author Nancy Bush is titled as ‘Nowhere’. It is comprised of a total of 4 books, which were released between the years 2012 and 2014. The debut book of this series is titled as ‘Nowhere to Run’, and was published by the Kensington publication in the year 2012. The plot of the book consists the lead characters in the form of Liv Dugan as well as her family members. At the start of the story of the book, it is shown that Liv Dugan ducks from work at the Zuma software company for lunch and it appears to be just a usual day in her life. But, when she returns back, she becomes extremely shocked by witnessing a massacre. All the workers in the Zuma software were shot and were lying dead in front of her eyes. Liv considers herself lucky to have decided to skip work for lunch, which is the reason why she was the only one left unscathed in the whole office. However, it appears that her luck is running out and she is required to act as quickly as possible to prevent herself from joining the rest of her colleagues. She thinks that the shooting of her colleagues was linked to her past life and to the package that was delivered to her recently from her long dead adoptive mom.
As a result, Liv Dugan begins to sense that someone is following her. She jumps onto a passing by car and asks the driver to drive off quickly. The driver complies with all the orders of Liv and also begins to listen to her story through her mouth. At first he appears to be quite skeptical, but ultimately believes her. He seemed to be attracted towards Liv and showed the willingness to help her in getting out of the mess. Together, the two go on to try and discover the truth related to Liv Dugan’s adoptive family, her troubled childhood days, as well as her biological parents. Whatever clues that Liv Dugan and her unlikely confidant come across during the search for the truth hint at only one thing, that is, there was a secret hidden in the past life of Liv which is worth killing for. The second novel of the Nowhere series written by author Nancy Bush was published by the Zebra publication under the title ‘Nowhere to Hide’. It was released in the year 2012. At the beginning of this book, a deadly killer is described who tends to make young, pretty, and brunette girls his victims. All the victims very an easy target for him and he ended their lives by slicing their skin with the help of his knife. But, the only one who remains far from his hands is Detective September Rafferty. He seems to have been trying to get her for the past few years. One day, Detective Rafferty receives an artwork through mail that she had drawn in her second grade. She recognizes it and discovers that the killer has written some words for her in blood. It appears that the killer knows her very well and is someone very close to her. The investigation leads Detective Rafferty to one of her old classmates named Jake Westerly. She does not think that he is the killer, but knows that she cannot trust anyone at such testing times. The killer seems to have turned into a monster and will stop at nothing to make his victims suffer. By killing Spetember Rafferty, he wants to send a message that the past secrets can never remain hidden.
