Nancy J. Parra is a United States based author who has 15 books published under her name. She holds a degree in Journalism from Kansas University but later opted for fictional writing. She currently resides in the Midwest with her loving husband and two adorable children along with her dog George Bernard. She is best known for her heroine characters who feature in her books. Her major genres of writing include romance, mystery, food, wine and cooking.

Her writing was influenced by great names such as Laura Ingalls Wilder, Julie Garwood, Nora Roberts and Mary Stewart.

Her first national bestseller was ‘All Fudged Up’ from her candy coated mystery series where she goes by the name Nancy Coco. Currently she has three mystery book series going.

She is an author who has mastered the art of intertwining romance with mystery leaving the reader in suspense wanting to know what shall follow next. Indeed she has warmed up to the heart of her readers by addressing the celiac disease which has helped some of her followers to understand the disease and the changes that come along with it.

Her books Gluten for punishment and Murder gone A-Rye are part of a mystery series under the Baker’s Treat Mystery Series which mostly involves the Beckley Prime Crime. All Fudged Up is part of the Candy Coated Mystery sseries together with To Fudge or Not To Fudge. The first book by Nancy J. Parra under the Perfect Proposal series is Engaged in Murder also from Beckley Prime Crime.

One of Nancy Parra’s lead characters Toni Holmes is among the reader’s favourites alongside Granma Ruth in the Baker Treat series books. Tonni is a gluten free baker who after inheriting her mother’s home moves to Kansas. She then has to solve a number of mysteries upon arriving in Kansas. In the Flourless to Stop Him, she has to solve the mystery behind the murder of a man that happened in a local inn’s room that had been registered under her own siblling’s name. She must strive to separate the truth from the lie in order to clear her brother’s name of the murder. She is rready and very determined to find out and expose whoever who framed her brother. However, she gets unwanted assistance from the one and only Granma Ruth who happens to be a former investigative journalist and will not let solving a murder pass her by.

One of Nancy’s early books include The Gluten for Punishment under the Baker’s Treat Mystery Series, is a mystery filled book with the lead character Toni Holmes and Granma Ruth taking central roles.It is a book surrounding a murder that occured outside Toni’s new gluten free bakery soon after she moved to Kansas. The wheat farmer’s murder outside her gluten free bakery makes the residents skeptical about Toni’s baking methods. The mystery and love triangle in the book makes it a must read for all romance and mystery lovers as it has very captvating twists and turns. Furthermore, the book touches on the celiac disease and is informative to the reader about how to cope with the dietary changes that come with the diagnosis of the disease.

Anotheer captivating early publication of Nancy Parra is the Wyoming Wedding under the Morgan Brothers series. It is a romance book with the lead characters being Jenny and Shay. Shay Morgan is confident that he is able to charm anny given woman. Jenny is a damaged soul who does not believe in love or marriage and views them as a waste of time and a way of welcoming poverty. All this is because her father left her sick mother while she was still a child and thus despises her father to the core. Her father then asks Shay to bring Jenny back home before his last days and Shay agreesconfidently saying he will do sowithin thirty days neglecting the facts that two men who went on the same quest previously never returned. The twists of the story makes the reader flip from page to page as Nancy plays with the suspense in the story. It is a story of two hearts who dare to push themselves beyond their vows to try and put their trust in love.

Despite the greatness of her writing skills and her mastery of the art of mystery, suspense, drama and romance, there are no available movies or tv shows based on Nancy’s writing. Her book, The Counterfeit Bride however, was described as the best selling romance book in 2010 by Booklist. It is a historical romance books that dates back to the 1870s where the lead character Lillian Picken an entreprenuer comes up with a solution to her problem as a female entreprenuer in the 1870s. The invents a husband for herself and convinces the town’s people about him. The twist comes when Donovan West,the alleged husband and Secret Service officer comes to town and discovers Lillian’s lie. Eventually he falls for her bbut had vowed never to marry again. The story’s plot will definitely keep anyone glued to the book from cover to cover.

Nonetheless, Nancy continues to receive numerous praise and reviews on her work from her large fan base via social media sites.

   Just recently picked up her books. Loved the Bakers Treat series and wish there were more. Living in Missouri I understand the wheat crop issue. Also enjoyed the Candy Coated series and have made several fudge recipes.
