An American author of thriller novels known for his down-to-earth characters being put in larger than life situations, Richard Doetsch has become a bestselling novelist famous for his easily accessible yet highly involving narratives which subtly draw the reader in. Setting up globe trotting plot-lines, he takes the reader on a worldwide journey, whilst never straying too far from what really makes his protagonists tick. With a flair for action himself, Doetsch lives a fit and active life, taking part in a number of adrenaline setting activities, such as skydiving and skiing, all of which help him to set the fast paced action packed tone of his next novel.

Early and Personal Life

Born in America, the author Richard Doetsch has always had a keen eye for what grabs peoples attention, which is useful when combined with his passion for both reading and literature, something that he’s held with with him from an early age. Always looking to take in new experiences and get involved, he leads a highly active life not just writing, but taking part in adrenaline fueled pastimes and extreme sports. This has come to be reflected in his writing, as the the pace always maintains a high momentum throughout and never faltering, something which his many readers have come to appreciate over the years.

Whilst he originally worked in commercial and real-estate, it was through this line of work that he learned how to engage people and draw them in, feeding them information in a witty and entertaining manner, that’s both interesting as well as thoughtful. His writing style is both immediate and direct, grabbing the reader in a manner that most writers would envy, as it ensures that his readers are unable to put his books down. With a background in music too, he has also previously crafted a career as an accomplished musician too, something which has afforded him another creative avenue to explore his voice through.

Serving as the director of several large real-estate firms, as well as the president and owner of a few too, with an expertise in both commercial and residential real-estate under his belt, he comes from a successful background and it’s this success that he now applies to his career as a novelist. Writing first class thrillers, he has been able to engage his readers in the same manner he did with his customers, with his clear and charismatic style that draws his audience in. In the past he has also featured on various film soundtracks along with a number of appearances on television, due to his career in music.

With films potentially being optioned now, as turns the heads of major studios such as 20th Century Fox who have brought the rights to his first novel The Thieves of Heaven, he’s well on his way to even greater heights. Married to his wife Virginia, they live with their children in New York where he continues to write to this very day. There seems to be no signs of him stopping any time soon, as more books are set to be released on into the foreseeable future, as his writing career grows from strength to strength.

Writing Career

The first novel from Richard Doetsch was published in 2006 when he brought out ‘The Thieves of Heaven’, followed the year after by its sequel ‘The Thieves of Faith’. These were to make up the ever popular ‘Michael St. Pierre’ franchise, which has spanned over four titles so far. There has also been attention from major studios such as 20th Century Fox who are looking to make a film of his debut.

With his books taking place on a global scale, it’s only fitting that his novels would reach an international audience as well. Gaining bestseller status in a number of different countries as well, the huge reception they’ve received has been undeniable. Winning acclaim from both the critics and the general public, it appears that there’s a lot more to come from Richard Doetsch as a successful author.

The 13th Hour

Written in 2009 on the first of November, this was originally released through the Atria Books publishing label to much acclaim, as it marked a writing career that was already well underway. Incorporating elements of science-fiction into the thriller genre, it manages to create a sense of urgency, as it builds the tension throughout all the way to the climatic conclusion. Using his now trademarked style and tone, Richard Doetsch provides his ever eager readers with more of what they’re looking for and have come to expect from him as an author.

Nick Quinn could never quite face the horrific truth that his wife was brutally murdered, and would do anything he could to change the past and bring her back. Then, on the 28th of July at 9pm he might get the chance to do just that and save his wife Mary, whilst going back through history and tracking down her killers using a series of clues in the process. Things might not be quite that simple though, as he he then has to deal with another horrific truth; changing the past may have even worse consequences in the future. Will he get his wife back? Just who was it that killed her all those years ago and why? What will become of Nick Quinn as heads into the 13th hour?

The Thieves of Darkness

This was to be the third in the Michael St. Pierre series of novels, as it was initially released on the 15th of June, 2010, through the Atria Books label once again. With a high-octane no-holds barred plot once again, it follows the eponymous protagonist and reformed master thief Michael St. Pierre for another adventure. Taking the same style and tone as his other novels, Richard Doetsch delivers more of his exciting brand of suspense laden narratives yet again, for his now numerous army of fans worldwide fans.

Despite trying to place his criminal past behind him, Michael St. Pierre goes to break his friend out of jail only to discover that his girlfriend is being held there as well. Now the three of them head off on a dangerous mission to uncover a mysterious artifact, the mysterious artifact that put them behind bars in the first place. With a madman tailing them as well, it appears that they’re against the clock too, as they hurry to get to the prized possession before it’s too late. Will they find this map, the map that can show the way to the ancient promised lands? Can they elude their twisted tormentor hot on their tails? What will become of the thieves of darkness?

    I always run out of words to describe this genius writer. I mean how is he able to write like that…If i were to the get the opportunity to meet him personally,which i know may never happen, i will wish he tells a bit more about Genevivie Zivera,in his book;The thieves of faith
