Baby Shark

This is the first book published by Fate in the series Baby Shark. The book starts in a roadside pool. It is located in Abilene, and the young teenager in question if Kristin Van Dijk. She is just 17 years and the saddest thing is that four thugs force her to watch the brutal murder of three persons, including her father, who is a pool hustler. She is brutally assaulted and beaten. But for the timely help of Henry Chin, Kristin would also have died. He saves her and also helps her to recover from the shock and trauma. The local police are not interested in investigating the case. Therefore Henry, the Chinese immigrant takes the help of a private investigator who is more inclined to provide justice than what is expected from law enforcing authorities. Henry also hires two vets to train Kristin how to protect herself from potential intruders. Kristin masters the art and becomes a tough person physically and mentally. When she reaches the age of eighteen she starts looking for the thugs and West Texas. This is when she earns the nick name Baby Shark. She knows she has to avenge the wrongdoing but it is not going to be easy. There is no doubt that it is an extremely well written book which is fast paced and interesting.

High Plains Redemption

This is the third book in the Series of Baby Shark. The Book is set against the drop of the year 1957 and the month is May. This book is again built round the character Baby Shark aka Kristin Van Dijk. She will be twenty one soon. She is now a PI and she has a partner by the name Otis Milletts and is running the show Millett Agency which is now almost two and half years old. She lives in a poll hall and has a German Shepherd named Jim as company. Kristin and Otis’ job is to deliver a ransom for Savannah Smike who has been kidnapped. She is the girl friend of an Oklahoma bootlegger. It is not about just giving the ransom to the kidnappers. It is much more than that. They will have to kill the kidnappers or run the risk of being killed. Why is Savannah so badly needed and why are a few people ready to commit multiple murders? If you wish to have answers for this, it certainly makes sense to read this book. This is well and truly an action cum crime adventure which is highly interesting to say least. It has the trademark characteristics of Robert Fate’s writing which is too hard to imitate and copy. Hence at the end of it all there is no doubt that he is one of a kind and has set new standards in mystery story writing.
