Eventually, she decided to give up her job and write romance novels. Author Rosalind says that she was able to achieve success in her life, both as a marketing executive and as a writer because of the fact that many people like to escape to the beautiful country of New Zealand, and she is also one of them. As of today, she lives along with her husband named Rick in Berkeley, California. Her happy family also comprises of a couple of grown sons and a Labrador Retriever whom she calls Charlie.

Author Rosalind was inspired to become a romance novel after reading the successful works of the noteworthy authors such as Jane Austen, Georgette Heyer, and Elizabeth Phillips. Apart from her excellent writing skills, she likes to attribute her successful writing career to all the helpful literary agents whom she met during her career. One of her favorites is Jill Marsal from the Marsal Lyon Agency. Rosalind met her husband in Berkeley when she was just 21 years old. This is the reason why she has a firm belief in finding true love in life and going on to live happily ever after. These feelings also help her to develop the stories of her novels around them. She likes to spend her summer time in her home Berkeley along with her family as she likes the foggy weather and a chance to go food shopping. Author Rosalind had to travel to New Zealand because of the job of her husband as an engineer as well as she won as a marketing executive. She spent a total of 15 months, living in Auckland. During this time, she fell in love with the beauty of New Zealand deeply. Rosalind cherished the diversity of the seascapes as well as the landscapes in New Zealand, its Maori culture, and the modest, loving, hospitable, and the good-humored people. On one occasion, author Rosalind James had gone to watch the final match of the Rugby World Cup in Wellington during her holidays. Witnessing such a thing made her wonder how it feels to be admired instantly and recognized instantly in a country like New Zealand that does not support bad behavior. Also, how difficult it will be to find a perfect life partner from such a huge crowd. This is how she went on to write her first novel titled ‘Just This Once’. And from then on, she did not look back and kept on progressing in her writing career.
