In addition to these pen names, she uses one more pseudonym called Rebecca Kelly for writing the novels based on the Christian fiction genre.

Author Viehl is particularly famous for writing the Stardoc as well as the Bio Rescue novel series in her successful writing career. Whenever author Viehl is not busy with her writing works, she likes to spend her time reading, painting, quilting, knitting, and cooking. Despite trying her hand at writing novels based on a variety of genres, author Viehl describes herself to be a romance writer primarily. As a result, she might be working on whichever genre of her choice, there will always be an element of romance present in it. As of today, Viehl lives happily in Florida along with her family, comprising of her husband and a couple of children. Author Viehl was brought up as well as received her primary education in South Florida. Before going on to become a full time writer, author Viehl used to work in the Air Force of the United States. Being a veteran today, she has vast experiences of working in the trauma centers of both the military and the civilian ones.

One of the successful novel series written by author S L Viehl is titled ‘Stardoc’. It consists of a total of 10 books published between the years 2000 and 2010. The first novel of the series was released under the title ‘Stardoc’. It was published by the Roc publishing house in the year 2000. The plot of this novel revolves around the happenings in the lives of the central characters name Cherijo Gray Viel and Joseph Gray Viel. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, it is shown that Dr. Cherijo Viel is fed up with her domineering and cold father, as well as with her helpless life on Earth. Her father, Dr. Joseph Veil also does not seem to provide any help to her. Therefore, she goes on to take the first off-planet job in the medical field that she finds. Dr. Cherijo lands in the world of the Kevarzangia Two, where she gets posted in the trauma center called Trauma FreeClinic. The world of Kevarzangia seems to be colonized by a total of 200 different types of alien species. Among those alien species, the humans find themselves as being the minorities.

Before this job, Dr. Cherijo had never performed the treatment of an alien, but being a talented doctor, she hopes that she will get through it after practicing for a little while. After she arrives at the K-2, Dr. Cherijo realizes that knowing very less about the alien medicines has caused the beginning of a new problem in her life. As a result, she is disliked by her boss as well as by her colleagues. Being quite impatient in following the rules, Dr. Cherijo tries to run the all the local customs in parts. The chief linguist of the colony named Reever, who appears to be a handsome and creepy man, always annoys Cherijo by using his telepathic powers to try and invade into her mind. On the other hand, Cherijo’s father, who has become extremely furious from the time she had departed, is trying to do all that he can in order to bring her back. Despite facing all the difficulties, Dr. Cherijo does not lose hope and become successful in surmounting all the medical challenges. Eventually, she becomes a good friend of all her colleagues. However, just as she seems to get the feel of home at the trauma center on K-2, the colony gets stricken by a mysterious epidemic. As a result, Dr. Cherijo desperately tries to find the cure of the mysterious epidemic by racing against time. However, there seems to be a number of forces that work against her so that she does not succeed in her attempts. The anger and fear of the ill colonists, the hostility of the powerful people on Earth, as well as a terrible secret from her past life, which may be forced to get revealed by the epidemic. All these things make the matter even more difficult for Dr. Cherijo.

Author Viehl has warned the readers that this novel might not be a good choice for those who hope to some real science in the science fiction novels. In fact, this novel features universal translators and alien races, similar to that in the Star Trek series. The plot of this novel consists of a number of twists and turns, inventive setting, and a few quirky characters that keep the readers intrigued till the very end. The medical details that author Viehl has mentioned in the series are very much convincing and help to make the readers realize the fantastic aspects of the physiognomy of the aliens. The novel also features some of the most serious themes used by author Viehl to write the plot. On the whole, the Stardoc novel is an adventure and fun-loving story. Also, an excellent female lead adds to the action scenes of the plot. It even adds a sense of humor, and a plenty of wonders.

The second novel of the Stardoc series written by author S L Viehl was published under the title ‘Beyond Varallan’. It was released by the Roc publishing house in the year 200. The plot of this novel continues to depict the happenings in the life of the primary character named Dr. Cherijo. In the opening sequence of the plot of the novel, Dr. Cherijo is shown to be living with a perfect life. She goes on to find that he was just a clone and was regarded as non-sentient by her father. Soon, Human League launches begin to come after her along with several bounty hunters from each and every race. As a result, Dr. Cherijo begins to think that life could be any worse than this,.
