The series, Montgomery Brothers by Samantha Chase is comprised of 7 novels in total. All these novels were published from 2013 to 2015. The series’ first novel was released in the year 2013 by the author herself. It was titled as ‘Wait for Me’. This novel is set around the central characters Lucas Montgomery and Emma Taylor. The opening lines of this novel read as, if you are running from your past, then you will not cherish your present. The opening of this novel shows Emma Taylor as an executive assistant. She is shown as trying to find some time away, especially from her job and her life. Also, she seems desperate to keep her thoughts away from the son of her boss, who does not even feel the need to know whether she exists or not. Emma Taylor seems to have become extremely tired of waiting for the arrival of the right time to express her desires.
During one occasion, she helps her boss in making a difficult business deal successful. In return, he offers her a weekend holiday in an exotic destination. Thinking that the time is perfectly right for her, Emma decides to take advantage of the generous offer made by her boss. The other character named Lucas Montgomery is shown as a former superstar of the NFL, who is still suffering from the injury that ended his career. Now, the only thing that he wants in his life is the exile and some time alone. He decides to visit a sanctuary for a few days, hoping that he will be distracted or disturbed by others. Lucas likes to live in a similar way. His family tries hard to convince him to come back and embrace his life once again. They even write him letters in his new place. However, according to Lucas, his family does not understand the fact that he did not just lose his career, but also his sense of identity along with it. Everything was going the way had wished in his life until he comes across the sexy and sweet Emma Taylor. Lucas finds her completely off-limit and lets her crash into his life. Due to this, his well constructed life turns upside down.
The next novel was titled as ‘Trust in Me’. It revolves around the central characters named Jason Montgomery and Maggie Berrett. The opening of the novel shows that Jason Montgomery likes to work a lot in the company of his family. His elder brother had married a woman working in the company, but he wanted at all interested in doing anything like that and always used to fend off the unwanted attentions of the women in his office. But, due to the expansion of the company, he became desperately in need of an assistance to share his burden of duties. Maggie Berrett is depicted as living in the shadow of the Montgomery’s for a period of three years. She was happy working under Jason Montgomery as he was not given the unwanted advances like her previous employer. However, she gets appointed as the assistant of Jason, who thinks that she will a safe choice as assistant as she is a married woman. But the problem is that she is not actually married. Maggie did not find any difficulty in being close to Jason during her working time. But, when they begin to develop mutual attractions towards each other, she begins to wonder whether she will be allowed to continue with her job or not, because of the lie about her marriage?
