A full-time paralegal and middle-aged writer – Sue Ann Jaffarian – resides and practices her profession in Los Angeles. She is half Armenian from her father’s side. She is a fiction writer, specializing in mystery, romance, short story and general fiction writing. Sue Ann Jaffarian is from LA, where she lives with her two furry pet cats – Raffi and B. She is known as Meg Chambers, which is her pen name.

She is also popular for her erotic romance series – Winnie Wilde. Apart from writing fiction and short stories, Sue Anne is also a fabulous orator and motivational speaker. She uses the mode of humor in her works and speeches, which not only attracts and engages her audience but also helps them in their various pursuits. She is part of the Sisters in Crime and Mystery Writers of America organizations.
Plus Size – Living and Loving It
Sue Ann Jaffarian has always upheld the reality and accepted it. She is a curvy, plus-size middle age woman and proud of her physical appearance. She has been an avid reader of fiction from childhood. She always aspired to become a writer or write stories from a young age of 11.
She wrote a series book called, Odelia Grey, which is loosely based on her. In a recent interview, Sue Ann spoke about cozy mystery genre and how she adopted this style of writing. She was never inclined towards hardcore mystery or procedural fiction writing. This aspect of her finds essence in Odelia’s character, which sums up to be humorous and soft in nature.
Sue Ann Jaffarian – Works
Sue Ann has more than 20 published short stories and novels under her hat, covering both non-mystery and mystery genres. She is the VP of the Southern California Chapter of Mystery Writers of America. As mentioned above, she uses the pen name – Meg Chambers – for her work in Winnie Wilde.
This particular is a series of romance and eroticism. In fact, writing Winnie Wilde was more like an emancipation for Sue Ann, as a writer. She has been bold and out there with her fictional work in Winnie Wilde, which endows sexual graphical notations and adult theme. Both language and visuals in this steamy fiction are exactly what the genre asks for – Romance, eroticism and adult language.
Sue Ann’s Inspiration
She is inspired by many writers. Her favorite works include that of Jan Burke, Walter Mosely, Lisa Scottoline, John Morgan Wilson, Naomi Hirahara, Terry McMillan, Amy Tan and Lee Child. However, the one person whom she really looks up to for her humorous mystery works and stories, is Late Anne George.

Odelia Grey Mysteries
Odelia Grey Mysteries are part and parcel of Sue Ann’s life. In fact, she has quipped that the character bears a close resemblance to her both physically and in her personality aspect. The series is about Odelia Grey, who is a middle age, plus size paralegal. She is known to stumble upon varied mysteries that cause a lot of fun, anticipations and twists in the character and other supporting characters of the mystery series.
Odelia Grey Series is loved by all because most men and women, can relate to the characters, just like the writer herself – Sue Ann Jaffarian, who herself is a plus-sized woman and calls herself as a proud curvy, middle-age lady!
Ghost of Granny Apples
The Ghost of Granny Apples is about Granny and her renowned apple pies that won her many awards. The series is also about her husband, Jacob’s notorious murder in Julian, California. The story deals with mysteries in alignment to the fact that Granny was wrongfully framed for her husband’s murder and how her spirit has been on the lookout for help and justice. The series also revolves around Granny’s great – great – great – granddaughter Emma Whitecastle, who is a divorced and single mom in the modern times. Granny Apples, along with Emma Whitecastle, start to solve every mystery that took place in the past, especially that of the Jacob’s murder and Granny being framed on false charges.

Her mystery series – Odelia Grey – is considered to be one of the best works. The series has won her many awards and she also received a lot of accolades too, in spite of her amateur writer status. The first book from the series – Odelia Grey – which is Too Big to Miss, is optioned for the television and Corpse on the Cob, which is the fifth book of the series, has been released recently.
Sue Ann Jaffarian has won awards, especially for the Odelia Grey series. One of the awards includes a Bronze Medal from the Independent Publisher Book Awards, 2007.
