Judith Rossner was a successful published novelist.

She was born in New York City on March 31, 1935. She passed away on August 9, 2005. She was perhaps best known in the literary world for the novel Looking for Mr. Goodbar. The 1975 novel was inspired by the real life murder of Roseann Quinn, while also tackling the underside of the sexual liberation movement in the seventies.

The book remained her best known work as well as her best selling, but despite this, Rossner continued to think of and write more stories. The most successful novel that she had after Mr. Goodbar was August, which was all about the relationship that exists between a young woman with her share of troubles and then her psychoanalyst, who if possible has more emotional troubles than her client.

Olivia is a 1994 novel written by Judith Rossner. Read the book that publications such as the San Francisco Chronicle are calling a ‘strong, captivating novel’. If you have been looking for something new and completely original to add to your reading list, check this story out and see what you think!

For the main character Caroline in this story, the kitchen has always been the place that she has called her home. It is the place where she feels the most comfortable and happy, and there is nothing better than making her specialty Italian food in the kitchen to eat and maybe even share with others.

She goes to Italy and from the instant that she steps foot into the place, it seems like it’s a magical pairing. She also makes a quick new friend in Angelo, an appreciative and thoughtful young man who appears to enjoy her cooking to no end. Because of this, Caroline thinks that it’s a great idea to stay for a while and see what this new adventure brings.

However, even though they come together and have a wonderful relationship, as time moves on things start to shift. Soon even the magical spices that Italy has to offer are not able to help make her marriage taste the way that it should. They have a girl named Olivia, and Angelo decides to take over the raising of their gorgeous daughter. At ten years old, Olivia is also barely on speaking terms with her mother.

Caroline decides that it is time to leave the country and leaves her daughter behind for four years. That is the status of things until Olivia decides to look for her mother and seeks her out in New York. Caroline is thrilled that her daughter has come to look for her and is hopeful about what their reconciliation could be. That is, until she decides to reacquaint herself with the daughter who was difficult and demanding.

That is when Caroline discovers that despite all her intentions and best wishes, she still loves her daughter, but she does not exactly like her. Will she be able to overcome the barriers in her relationship with her daughter and develop something meaningful? Can they find a way to relate and be on good terms even though they have their differences?

Anything is possible in this sweet story that US Magazine says treats family life ‘with a wise and witty touch’. Betty Rollin says that this book brings everything you expect from a Judith Rossner story. Check it out for yourself to see what happens along the way and how it ends!

Perfidia is a 1997 novel written by Judith Rossner. If you love a good book that feels like it could easily be adapted into a movie, this is the story for you.

For Maddy, she cannot help it that her life is this way, and it’s all because of her mother. Her mother has no problem when it comes to making love to strangers, and Maddy feels that she often selects the worst types of friends possible.

All of her classmates are talking about going to college. However, for Madeline, she has a scholarship waiting for her at an Ivy League school but even then she doesn’t think that escape is possible. For Maddy, all of her life pretty much has to do with circling around the center of attention that is her raging mother, who is as jealous as she is promiscuous.

Now Maddy appears to have her own lover, and now that her mother’s life which is full of delusions, grudges, and lovers is crashing down all around them, it appears to be the worst time ever to depart. She knows deep down that leaving would help to deliver what could end up being a deadly blow. There’s just one way to get through a particularly terrifying moment that has the potential to change just about everything forever on a permanent basis.

In this book, Rossner presents another thrilling tale full of twists and turns all about the love between a mother and a daughter going horribly wrong. Will things be able to turn around, or is Maddy going to have to turn tail and run in order to preserve herself and leave her mother behind? Is there any way that this ends well instead of badly? Grab a copy of Perfidia to find out!
