Ann Ripley is a published author.

Ann was born on January 1, 1957. She used to be a newspaperwoman, and now she is busy spending her time doing some of her favorite activities. These include doing some good old fashioned organic gardening as well as writing mysteries.

Ann is married to her husband Tony. These reside in Lyons, Colorado. The first novel that she wrote was titled Mulch and it received the Top Hand Award from the Colorado Authors’ League. She is always working on another mystery.

Mulch is the first book in the Gardening Mysteries series by Ann Ripley. If you love a good mystery story that has plenty of twists and turns, this is one you might want to check out! When it comes to finding a killer, it could end up being your own grave that you’re digging.

Louise Eldridge is a housewife and an amateur gardener. She has a lot of plans for the new family home located in Sylvan Valley, situated among the many flowers that call the suburban Washington D.C. area home. There are some Japanese iris there, as well as skunk cabbage, and her own cabin for all of her horticultural writings.

She has been barely able to turn the topsoil there, however, when the organic mulching that she is doing ends up turning up the remains of some murder victim, which are so badly affected that they are not able to be identified. Now all of a sudden the elegant garden that she has constructed has apparently become a crime scene, surrounded by the loudly colored yellow police tape.

For Louise, cultivating the restless and rich wives of the neighborhood as well as their hothouse secrets is not nearly as interesting as putting her nose to the grindstone and figuring out who has gone missing. It is only that moment that she will be able to find a rare species of killer who might be the one soon digging her grave. Can she get to the bottom of it all before it buries her? Read this book from Ann Ripley to find out!

Death of a Garden Pest is the second book in the Gardening Mysteries series by Ann Ripley. If you thought that the first book in this series was good, check out the sequel and see what you think!

Getting to the bottom of murders is something that is starting to shift into something of a specialty for Louise Eldridge, the amateur gardener and the housewife. The horticultural skills that she has have gotten her the chance to land a role on Gardening with Nature, a public television show.

Louise has come up with her own organic gardening approach that while lightly controversial still serves to delight a variety of environmentalist viewers while also alarming traditionalist gardeners who prefer to use chemicals. She also has been able to get swarms of protesters, heaps of hate mail, and a lot of really great ratings.

All of a sudden, the bloom of success starts to fade. That is when the society maven that Louise replaced turns on her in a fit of violence. She picks a fight with her in the studio, but then is found dead (poisoned by pesticides) not too long after.

Louise is the top suspect. In attempting to clear herself, she has to find clues and look for the real killer. But with the cops and the killer also after her, she might find that she ends up six feet under if she is not careful. Can she work to stop a murderer, or is she in over her head? Read this book to find out.
