The place is Siam, and the year is 1628. When King Songtham passes away, it ends up setting off what will prove to be a chaotic time in Siamese history. A Machiavellian power struggle takes place, where many young contenders for the throne end up dying. It all ends when Prasat Thong proclaims himself to be king and then personally takes the throne.
