Conform is the first book in the Conform series by Ariel Sullivan. If you have been looking for a dystopian romance story that completely captivates you, check this book out and see what you think!
Somewhere in the future, a young lady discovers that she is torn not only between two loves but the two sides of a rebellion that is getting ready to start just under the surface. It has been centuries after the event of a world war that nearly took out the human race. A city came up from the ashes, being ruled for a group that is elusive and technologically advanced that is called the Illum.
At twenty-seven years of age, Emeline appears to live in a constant state of limbo. She spends her days wasting them, working in a job sorting old human art for destruction, all while waiting for her turn to be picked as a Mate for a procreation contract.
While others in her position would look forward to being chosen, the truth is that Emeline has never fully felt that she fit into a society where the worth of a person is determined by things that are constantly monitored, such as health, genes, and the ability to be able to procreate. She’s tried to keep her discomfort with this a secret. When she is at last chosen, her Mate is shown to be a member of the Illum who goes by Collin, and he’s a man who appears to have his own secrets.
It has been decades that an Illum has chosen a Mate, and Emeline and many others are all confused about why she was chosen. She is soon taken into the game of Courting, which is full of expensive dinners, ballgowns, and watchful eyes. Making one wrong move here could mean that you are eliminated.
There are parts to this elite lifestyle that actually do appeal to her, but the more interested in it that she becomes, the more that she is starting to see the dark underbelly of it all, as well as a rebellion that is secretly rising. Collin is confusing to her, protective and cold. Even worse, she finds herself being attracted to the last person that she knows she should be falling for, which is one of the resistance leaders named Hal.
As Emeline gets even closer to Collin and Hall, the Illum began to show their power in brutal ways. This will end up making Emeline question it all– including whether she is going to have to give up her heart or her life to stop them. Read this book to find out what happens!
Beneath is the second book in the Conform series by Ariel Sullivan, but intended to be a prequel. If you thought that the first book in this series was good, then check out this story about what came before and find out what sets the stage for the first book, Conform!
It was hundreds of years before the Illum were the supreme rulers. Before this, humanity ended up putting it all on the line to try and rebuild after going through a horrible war that devastated the human race.
Sasha Cadell is 23 years old and living in an underground city, where she understands that time is running out. The city is full of people who survived the nuclear fallout that happened six years ago. She works in the area of tunnel expansion, trying to get away from the memories of the people that she lost.
The rather boring existence that she leads is turned upside down when Tristian Hayes, a handsome and determined commander of the Force, ends up recruiting her. He gets her to join up with him as well as his elite fighting team as they go on a secret mission that is intended to take them up to the surface.
Sasha is put into a brutal training session, where the stakes are a lot higher than just survival. Their success means that the fate of humankind could be something good– or an utter disaster and a failure. As Sasha takes on her own struggles and demons, she discovers that there are both friends and foes to be had in the training program.
On top of that, she’s discovering that there is a hot attraction between Tristian and her that is steamy enough to risk taking down the walls that she has built up that stand around her heart. Under the surface of all this, deception and secrets are on the loose. Not everyone out there is going to make it through the rise of a power that is scarier than anything they have ever seen or known. Can they make it through, and will humanity survive all of this? Read this romantic dystopian story from Ariel Sullivan to find out.
