Chris Johnson is an Australian independent author who writes fast-paced science fiction and supernatural adventure stories. His work often follows ordinary characters who suddenly find themselves caught up in extraordinary situations involving time travel, historical mysteries, and unexplained phenomena.

His main series is the ChronoSpace time-travel adventures. The story begins when Tony Nowlan, an otherwise ordinary man, invents a time machine called the ChronoSpace. What initially appears to be an incredible scientific breakthrough quickly becomes far more complicated. Tony soon discovers that travelling through time is not simply a matter of visiting the past or future. Every journey raises new questions about cause and effect, responsibility, and the strange ways events can become entangled across history.

One of the central ideas explored throughout the series is the concept of the bootstrap paradox, where cause and effect form a loop and the origin of events becomes impossible to identify. As Tony experiments with his invention, he begins to realise that history cannot simply be changed at will. Instead, he must learn how to work within the events that have already happened. This leads him into dangerous situations involving famous historical moments, hidden connections across time, and the unsettling discovery that he himself may be part of the very paradox he is trying to understand.

The ChronoSpace series currently includes the novels Bootstrap’s Journey, The Paradox of Buck Nowlan, The Titanic Connection, and The Legacy Unwritten. A prequel novella, Before Bootstrap’s Journey, explores the events leading up to Tony’s discovery of time travel and the early challenges he faces while developing the first working version of the time machine. The series combines science fiction ideas with adventure and mystery, gradually revealing a larger story about the consequences of time travel and the responsibilities that come with it.

Alongside his science fiction work, Chris also writes the Craig Ramsey – Occult Detective series. Craig Ramsey is a psychic investigator with unusual abilities such as psychometry, astral travel, and the ability to communicate with spirits. One of them is a protective Scottish lady named Emily with a possessive personality and cheeky sense of humour. Based in Australia, Ramsey encounters strange cases involving ghosts, hidden secrets, and supernatural mysteries that often blur the line between the rational and the unexplained.

Chris enjoys writing stories that combine adventure, mystery, and speculative ideas while keeping the focus on believable characters and the decisions they make when faced with the unknown.

Before becoming a full-time writer, he worked in several different fields and also performed professionally as both a magician and a mentalist. Those experiences occasionally influence the themes in his stories, particularly when exploring ideas about perception, deception, and the limits of what people believe is possible.

When he is not writing, Chris enjoys running, watching films, and continuing to develop new ideas for future books in both the ChronoSpace and Craig Ramsey – Occult Detective series.
