Lauren Haney is a published American author.

It is a pen name that is used by Betty Winkelman.

Lauren Haney has previously served as a former technical editor working in the aerospace and international construction industries. She is the author of many ancient Egyptian mystery stories featuring the main character of Lieutenant Bak.

Lauren resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She operates from there as her home base but also makes plans to go to Egypt and travels there at every opportunity that she gets.

Her books have been released in such languages as French, English, and German, and have also been released in the Czech Republic. The German editions of her books were released under the author’s real name, Betty Winkelman.

The officer’s gruesome death may only ultimately be able to be solved with the help of the drawings of a missing mute boy.
