Lori Foster is a best-selling American Novelist with more than seventy Romance novels under her belt. She also has a number of best-selling Urban Fantasy novels, written using her first and middle names initials, L.L. Foster.
Born on 14th November (year disclosed), Lori is married to her high school sweetheart with whom they have 3 children—all born between early to mid-80s.
She graduated from high school in 1977 alongside her husband. Then settled in Ohio as a wife, where she held various jobs including a grocery store clerk, a saleslady, and finally a Procter and Gamble material handler before becoming a full-time stay-at-home mum to raise her kids.
Lori points out that she has no college education. Her journey as a Romance novelist began when she was lying sick diagnosed with pneumonia. Her sister brought her a bag full of romantic novels to read. She read the novels and thereafter developed strong desires to write her own. This pushed her to write more than 10 manuscripts within the next five years, selling one within the time.
But it was until 1996 that her first novel, Impetuous, was first published and released—by Harlequin. She then followed it quickly with her second book, which launched the Temptation Blaze subseries. And since then, she’s been a fast-paced prolific writer, with more than 70 romance novels under her name as of now.
Her novels have appeared on USA Today Bestsellers list, Waldenbooks, and the New York Times extended. She’s also contributed to the Romance Writers Report and Digest Magazine, in addition to regularly presenting workshops at various conferences including the RWA national and to her local chapter.
According to Lori, her first priority has always been her family, even though she can’t hide the fact that she still loves writing and that it takes a huge chunk of her time. Her family, which consists of her, her husband and their three sons–now-full grown adults, is a perfect example of what it means to have a happy family.
In 2007, Lori took a detour from Romance into Urban Fantasy genre, with her second Urban Fantasy novel becoming Amazon’s Number One Romance editors’ pick of the month.
Her favorite romantic writer as of now is none other than the celebrated Romantic novelist Kresley Cole. Other writers appearing on her list of favorite writers include Linda Howard, Susan Andersen, Jullie Garwood, Catherine Coulter, Jayne Ann Krentz, and Johanna Lindsey.
Lori has a huge number of best-selling novels, which make her one of the most successful romance novelists of all time.
Her second book, which also introduced the Harlequin Temptation Blaze series, is a classic example of how talented the writer is. Basically, the novel spins around Emily Cooper, a young broad on a mission to bring his brother’s assaulters under trial after he was hurt with a defective black market gun.
Determined to bring the assailants to justice, the feisty rich, little girl finds herself caught up in the middle of something even bigger than what she envisioned. Luckily for her, a fetching, young policeman comes to her rescue in due time. Convinced that she’s finally found someone to help her in her quest, Emily gets to see the intriguing side of Judd Sanders, the Policeman. She can’t help falling in love almost instantly. That marks the beginning of one of the greatest romantic stories ever told.
Emily has no words to describe Judd. One moment he’s the gorgeous, young cop rescuing Emily from a bunch of inebriated hooligans, next he’s the romantic fella entertaining a group of voracious women who can’t just get their hands off his sexy body. Intrigued, Emily is set to find out what other secrets the man hides.
Judd on the other hand is totally swooned the first time his eyes rests on Emily. She’s totally irresistible. What’s even more captivating about Emily is the fact that she’s relentlessly set to uncover Judd’s backroom dealings. Though naïve, there’s something about Emily that Judd can’t just get enough.
He’s afraid he might blow up his cover, but his heightened libido doesn’t just seem to come to grips with the situation at hand. Emily knows so little about Judd. But he’s worth the risk, and a far more important asset to her mission.
Still on the Harlequin Temptation Blaze series, Scandalized is another publication of hers that’s still read widely despite being published almost two decades ago.
Scandalized is an interesting novel, one that readers won’t resist the urge to keep on reading once they pull past the first chapter. Centered on Tony, a young man looking for a woman who’ll bear him a child with no strings attached, and then disappear, the novel puts a unique spin on the modern definition of a sexually liberated couple.
Tony meets Olivia, a gorgeous face who only does one night stands. Neither does she desire to have a husband nor bear anyone one a child. She’s a free-spirit. To her it’s always about incredibly hot sex. But things seem to take a different direction when she finally meets that one man who makes her consider otherwise. The feeling is mutual and both parties have to compromise and calibrate their standards accordingly to accommodate their feelings.
Tony is a successful entrepreneur who promises to help Olivier start a lucrative business within a one-year stretch. He promises to finance the business, pull it off the ground and then transfer all the ownership to Olivier, but only if she agrees to have the aforementioned type of affair with him.
Olivia agrees, but everything takes a different turn along the way. The cold business agreement isn’t just enough for her. She wants more than a torrid fling. She wants passion and more heat.
This desire is heightened when the two get to sleep together for the first time. Turns out, the two were actually meant to be. The sexual combustion between them says it all.
Olivia is besotted. She wants more. And the feeling keeps on growing as each day passes by. And while her now intensifying passion puts her at risk of burning up her contract, she’s willing to go to whatever length and risk everything to keep the fire burning.
The novel shows how passion can transform even the cocky, level-headed types. The hotelier Tony and the boutique-owner Olivier get more than they actually bargained for in their business contact. He wanted an heir, but ends up with the love of his life. She wanted a torrid fling, nothing more, but she’s left with luscious memories that she has to live with the rest of her life. Scandalized indeed!

What are the names of the books for the second “Ultimate series”. I just finished “Fighting Dirty” and I’m looking for the next series with the MMA fighters.
Great books! They are hard to put down once I start reading them.
I don’t believe it’s out yet or announced – she did just recently release Bray, a novella in that series
Loved listening to McKenzie series it was great.
