Martha Peace is an author as well as a biblical counselor who is certified by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Throughout the course of her career, she has written many books. She also teaches on a national and an international basis.
Martha was born in the Atlanta area, where she grew up and was educated. She attended the Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and graduated from their three year diploma program. She then attended a four year degree program through Georgia State University.
Martha has thirteen years and counting under her belt as a registered nurse, where she specialized in pediatric burns, coronary care, and intensive care. She became Christian in June of 1979. She would end her nursing career in 1981 and started putting her focus on family and a ladies’ Bible study class.
She spent five years teaching verse by verse book studies, then went on to get training as well as certification from NANC, the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors. This was started by Dr. Jay Adams to train and certify individuals to become biblical counselors. Since then, NANC is now ACBC, the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. She teaches counseling classes and works in her church’s Certified Counselor Training Center doing counseling.
She has also worked for eight years at the Atlanta Biblical Counseling Center as a biblical counselor, counseling women and kids and teens. She has also presented workshops on different biblical counseling issues for women at the national conference for NANC.
She has been an instructor for several years at Atlanta’s Carver Bible Institute and College. There she taught a variety of women’s classes. She has written a variety of books as well, including the workbook Raising Kids Without Raising Cain. She is also known for writing books such as The Excellent Wife, Becoming a Titus 2 Woman, Tying the Knot Tighter, and many more, has co-written books with others, and also has many CD and DVD sets which are available for purchase.
Martha is active in Faith Bible Church, as is her family. Located close to Peachtree City, Georgia, she teaches Bible study classes and counseling classes and also does counseling in the church counseling center there.
On top of that, the author also travels all over the world, putting on seminars for ladies’ groups on a variety of topics, many embracing the titles of her books such as Raising Kids Without Raising Cain.
Martha has been married to Sanford Peace since September 24, 1966. Her husband is a retired air traffic controller. They share two children, Anna and David. They have many grandchildren and even great-grandchildren.
