Sarah Chamberlain is an American published author.
She is known for writing contemporary romance stories that are smart and sexy. They feature strong heroines who are able to find love in places that you may not expect. Her debut novel was titled The Slowest Burn and tells the story of chaotic chef Kieran, who has just competed in a television cooking competition season and won. There is also Ellie, the ghostwriter and widow who is co-writing his cookbook.
Sarah says that the book is full of all the tropes that she loves. It includes opposites attract, forced proximity, reverse grumpy-sunshine, workplace romance, and fake dating. She says that the book is also a love letter to the joys of cooking, found family, and the San Francisco Bay Area where she grew up.
When Chamberlain is not busy writing romance, she works as a cookbook translator. She has worked with different authors to make recipes workable for American cooks. She has written about different topics as well such as food, power lifting, what you should do if you find yourself in an opera for The Guardian, Food52, and McSweeney’s Internet Tendency. She also writes a Substack that is all about books and drinks that is called Reading at the Bar.
The Slowest Burn is a 2024 novel by Sarah Chamberlain. When it comes to fictional novels, let the drama of this engaging novel take you away from the everyday and into another world.
Sometimes love can be a recipe for disaster. Or it might just end up being the best thing that was ever cooked up. Kieran O’Neill is someone who feels that he ought to be on top of the world. He has won a cooking reality television show and he is on track to be opening his own restaurant before turning the age of thirty years old. He even has landed himself a high paying cookbook deal.
Despite all of this, it seems that he just cannot impress his family who are very stuck up in their ways. He also has ADHD, which makes planning ahead for the future very difficult. Perhaps the worst thing of all, the ghostwriter he is stuck with appears to be the most uptight and devoid of humor woman that he has ever had the misfortune to encounter. In order to be viewed as a serious chef just like he has always wanted to be, he really needs to finish the book.
Ellie Wasserman is a young woman but she is having a tough time keeping it all together. She’s a widow who is thirty years of age who is living with her in-laws, who are very needy. She’s frustrated because it appears that her little brother is having a tough time being an adult without her assistance. And in place of working on a cookbook of her own, she is actively ghostwriting one for Kieran O’Neill. Or she would be doing so if he would get back to her emails.
To own her own house is something that she has always dreamed of. But in order to do so, she desperately needs to finish the book. The deadline is getting even closer, with the heat between them growing. Can these two people who are lonely on their own let go of the hurt that has burned them in the past and create something sweet together? Will their love life get totally disrupted? This is a great will they or won’t they scenario that will have readers on the edge of their seats. Read this book to find out!
Love Walked In is a 2025 novel by Sarah Chamberlain. An American bookstore whisperer with a sunshine type outlook ends up clashing with a grumpy British owner of a shop that she is attempting to save in an opposites attract romance story that book lovers and romance lovers will really enjoy.
Leo Ross has a bookshop that is struggling, and Mari Cole has a special skill for bringing bookstores that are dying back to life. As soon as she goes into his store, it turns out that all bets have been called off.
Mari Cole’s dream job has become indistinguishable from her whole life. She loves to rescue indie bookstores and revitalize them. She doesn’t need things like love or friendship. After going through a difficult childhood, she is finding that she has no desire to get close to anyone. People may have let her down time after time, but books have never been able to let her down.
Mari is excited when she gets an opportunity to rescue Ross & Co. Ross & Co. used to be the most prestigious indie bookseller in London, but now the store is a shadow of what it once was. It requires an expert outsider to help turn things around. Then the offer appears to be double-edged. Leo Ross is the new owner of the store but he turns out to be as cold and hostile as the British winter.
For as long as he can recall, Leo has understood that his future is being the next generation to run Ross and Co. He has given up nearly all that he cares about to do this. However, the bookstore is still going down on his watch and now there is an American woman who is annoyingly cheerful who has convinced herself that she is going to make it all better. Leo’s life is already messy and difficult and he does not want her to help him.
Then Mari and Leo have to work together to bring the store back to life. Leo’s icy appearance starts to thaw and it shows the man underneath it all, the passionate man that she cares about. Winter ends up giving way to new beginnings and Mari starts to see that real love could be better in her own life than in the pages of a book. Can they let love in and put their pasts to the side?
