Sarah Sheridan was an author born in London who now resides in a village in South Northamptonshire.

Sarah attended the Courtald Institute of Art where she gradated with a Masters degree in Eighteenth-Century French and English art. She would then teach art in secondary schools for thirteen years.

She has worked with human rights organizations that protect minority groups from institutional abuse. After that, she worked towards a PhD at The Open University, researching the effect that secrecy has on marginalized people. In this specific case, it was the biological children of Roman Catholic priests.

Sarah has spoken about her research on different news programs for the BBC and other media outlets globally. It was the sense of secrecy and silencing that became the original inspiration for The Convent, her first crime novel.

The author is obsessed with reading and is amassing such a large book collection that some of it is in storage. She is addicted to writing and after inventing secret stories from a young age and having different short stories and articles published, she wrote a children’s book in 2013. The Top Secret Diary of Davina Dupree was successful, so much so that she went on to write a series.

Sarah has three children and a ton of pets. She likes going for walks with Rich, her partner. When she is not busy doing that, she can be discovered writing while taking in large amounts of chocolate.
