Family Blood Ties (2011) is composed of 10 books, and diverges from the paranormal eroticism of Psychic Visions, instead centralizing on a teenage vampire. The moral conflicts of being a teenager are exacerbated as main character Tessa finds herself torn between human world and vampire world. Encompassing romance, thriller, and fantasy, Family Blood Ties is a frontrunner series that famously ends in cliffhangers. Follow Tessa through the series as she navigates through adolescence, plummets into chaos, and fights epic battles with her enemies- human and vampire alike.
Design (2011) is a shorter series than Psychic Visions and Family Blood Ties, comprised of 3 novels. The urban fantasy incorporates elements of adventure, love, and fantasy. Geared towards young adults, Design is incredibly relatable amongst readers. The series follows Storey Dalton, an artist who finds herself devastated after being dumped via Facebook. She discovers her drawings can open portals into other dimensions. Her story is crossed with Eric Jordan, a Ranger who becomes intertwined with Storey, as they must work together to save humanity- in two different worlds. Branching into yet another non-fiction genre, Career Essentials (2011) is one of Mayer’s well-known non-fiction series that discusses standing out in a tough economic climate. The fundamental aspects of a resume, powerful marketing tactics. Humour is another genre Mayer has successfully mastered. It’s a Dog’s Life (2011) revolves around Ninna and her offbeat job at the local animal shelter. Mosey, a smart mouthed Bassett Hound, speaks to Ninna. Incorporate a love interest and a stalker, the novella is a classic rom-com with suspenseful elements Mayer is so well known for.
