Marie Force is an award-winning author who has featured in the bestselling authors lists of New York Times, Wall Street Journal as well as USA Today. She has successfully sold more than three million copies of her novels worldwide. Marie specializes in romantic, contemporary romance, thriller and mystery genre novels. Her self-published series of novels, ‘McCarthys of Gansett Island’ has sold more than 1 million copies of e-books alone since 2011. In all, she has written 4 novel series’ and most of her novels have featured in the New York Times best-sellings’ list. Even the stand-alone books have been very successful. Marie was born in Newport, Rhode Island. Her father ran an aviation repair business while her mother assisted him. She graduated from the Middletown High School in the year 1984 and later, joined the University of Rhode Island and majored in Journalism as well as Political Science. She started working for a small community newspaper after graduating. Her father was very fond of large boats. He had built a 36 foot boat with all the luxurious amenities in it, which they did not have in their homes. Marie left Rhode Island after marrying a Naval Officer named Dan and moved to Spain at the age of 26. While in Spain, she earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Maryland. She had to move frequently due to the positioning of her husband. When they were in Maryland, she did a job as a communications director of a nonprofit organization. She also served as an editor-in-chief of a national trade magazine.
Marie got retained as a full time telecommuter in 1998 when her husband was transferred to Jacksonville, Florida. She had become a mother of a couple of children by then and used to spend most of her time with her children and pets. She then moved back to Rhode Island after the retirement of her husband in 2001 and stays there till today in the town of Portsmouth. Marie started taking writing seriously after moving back to Rhode Island and was encouraged by Dan to pursue a full time career as an author. After three years of rigorous thinking and continuous scribbling, Marie was finally ready with four chapters. From there, she continued making masterpieces and is still doing so after so many years of success. She had always received the required support from her fans. When no publishing house was ready to release the McCarthys of Gansett Island series, she decided to self-publish it as she believed that no one was interested in the series except her fans. Keeping faith in her readers, she published the series herself and got an overwhelming response as her fans showed tremendous love towards her writings. She has been embraced by everyone for her hard work and dedication and her family has supported her all through her life.
Marie established herself as a successful author with the success of the McCarthys of Gansett Island series. It was released as a set of eleven romantic novels along with a boxed set comprising of 3 novels. The series has become one of the most beloved romance series published till now and has been able to sell more than 1.5 million copies since its debut in 2011. The first book of the series was titled ‘Maid for Love’ and revolved around the love life of Maddie Chester and Mac McCarthy. The novel was released in the year 2011 and became a huge hit among the masses. The story shows how Maddie and Mac fall in love with each other in the Gansett Island. Maddie is thinking of leaving the Gansett Island, which is her hometown. The place has never been good for her in any way and has mostly brought bad memories to her. There were ugly rumors spreading about her on the island and her life had become totally miserable. She used to work at the McCarthy Resort Hotel as a housekeeper. She meets Mac, Gansett’s ‘favorite son’ when they indulge in an accident.
Mac was in town to help his father in the preparations of selling the family resort and had no intentions of staying longer at the Gansett island. Maddie gets knocked off her bike on her way to job by Mac and gets severely injured. In order to pay for his mistakes, Mac decides to nurse Maddie. He moves in to help her young son and take care of him until she gets fully recovered. He promises to take good care of her and help her to get back to her normal health. But, during the course they both fell in love with each other and Mac realizes that he became a maid for love. ‘Maid for Love’ was a very sweet and romantic story resembling that of a handsome prince and a beautiful princess. It was ne of those books that made people smile and sigh while reading. It was an intense book full of romance.
The second novel of the series was published in the year 2011 and was named ‘Food for Love’. It also revolved around the love life of a couple. Joe Cantrell is shown as the owner of the Gansett Island Ferry Company and has been the love interest of Janey McCarthy for a very long time. But, Janey was engaged to a trainee doctor, David Lawrence. When Janey and David separate, she calls for Joe and spends a few days with him. She decides to stay for a few days and then leave for her home to the island, where her parents have been waiting for her with the news of her broken engagement. Joe was in a miserable state when he used to love Janey from far away and she was happy with David. Now that she is with him, he might try to take advantage of the situation. But he has to think about his best friend and Janey’s elder brother Mac before taking any serious step. It is not long before Janey realizes the love for in the eyes of Joe and accepts him as the true love of her life. Fool for Love is yet another romantic masterpiece by Marie Force depicting the love life of the McCarthy siblings. It is based on the same sweet romantic formula and is a must read book free from any craziness.
