Lee Strauss is a bestselling writer from America, who is famous for writing historical fiction, mystery, science fiction, and suspense novels. She has written several highly successful book series in her writing career. Some of the most popular ones include A Nursery Rhyme series, The Perception series, Ginger Gold Mystery series, etc. In addition to the books of these widely popular mystery series, author Strauss has written romantic suspense, dystopian, historical fiction, and young adult books as well. Author Strauss hails from Aurora, Illinois, United States. She says she has received a lot of inspiration by reading the works of prominent authors like Agatha Christie, Rhys Bowen, etc. This has influenced her to come up with her own exciting stories in many ways. Author Strauss uses the name of Elle Strauss for writing young adult and fantasy novels. During her spare times, she likes to get involved interesting sports activities like kayaking, cycling, and hiking. Also, she loves to travel very much, although she hates the jet lags she gets by her frequent travels.
Author Strauss is very fond of chocolates. She enjoys red wine, dark chocolates, and cashew lattes. Strauss spends most of her time writing her books or reading the works of other novelists. She has given reviews in numerous literary journals and magazines. There have been more than a million printed copies of author Strauss’ books sold altogether in different parts of the world. They have been translated into several foreign languages such as Spanish, German, Korean, French, etc. Nowadays, many of her novels are being transformed into audiobooks. Strauss has made an audio library of her own and it keeps growing everyday. Author Strauss’ birth took place in one of Chicago’s suburbs. Her parents were Canadian, so she obtained the dual citizenship of America and Canada.
As a child, Strauss used to live in San Jose, Calfornia. But, because of the draft of her father in the Vietnam war, she had to move to Canada along with her mother. While growing up, Strauss hated the winter and cold in Canada and wished her parents should have stayed in California. Currently, she resides in the Okanagan Valley, which is the most temperate locations in Canada. Author Strauss met a musician at the age of 22 and married him. She lived with her husband in different parts of Canada, including Vancouver, Kelowna, etc. They even stayed in Boston and West Germany, and then returned to Kelowna. Strauss and her husband are involved in humanitarian works in Romania. Author Strauss says that she has visited 14 European countries, 6 Canadian provinces, 14 American states, South and Central America, Africa, Asia, and Mexico. She is the mother of 4 children. When her kids were small, she used to tell them bedtime stories and in that process, she realized that maybe she could come up with an original story.
At the time, she mainly involved in painting sketching. As she had no idea about writing & publishing, she started reading all that she could find in the library. She read many articles and information on creative writing, publishing, etc. Strauss even went through each of the magazines of Writer’s Digest. All of this helped her in getting started and then benefitted her in the long run. It took Strauss some time to get used to the craft, but she managed it pretty well. Strauss loves the idea of writing from anywhere, as it gives her the freedom of choosing her own work and rest time. Strauss also likes the mobility that it gives to her. She has planned to publish some more titles in the coming days and hopes she will be to entertain her fans with her future books as well.
The Ginger Gold series written by author Lee Strauss is comprised of a total of 6 books, which were released between the years 2017 and 2018. Each of the books of this series features the chief protagonist in the role of Ginger Gold, who keeps getting involved in solving various mysteries around her. The debut book of the series is entitled ‘Murder at the Hartigan House’. It was released by the Brown Books publication in the year 2017. Author Strauss has done the book’s setting in London and has mentioned the lead characters as Ginger Gold, Basil Reed, Haley Higgins, George Hartigan, etc.
At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Ginger reaches her home, Hartigan Hosue, in London after traveling from Boston to Liverpool over the Atlantic. She finds that on the floor of her home’s attic, there are some very old remains of a poor woman. She becomes intrigued even more when her terrier hints at a disappeared phalange below the bed. Ginger Gold’s attempt to unravel the mystery puts her alongside a handsome chief inspector named Basil Reed. While chasing the clues, Ginger and her friend Haley are led to ‘soiree’ that was hosted by her father George Hartigan in 1913. This casts a suspicion shadow on the legacy of Ginger’s father. The situation becomes difficult for Ginger Gold and begins to doubt whether she wants the truth to be known to her. She thinks of hosting a similar event and inviting all the guests who were present in the party hosted 10 years back. But, things take a shocking turn when one more person is found dead.
The next volume of this series is called ‘Murder at Bray Manor’. This book was also published by Brown Books in 2017. Author Strauss has described the primary characters in this novel’s story as Dowager Lady Gold, Felicia, Ambrosia, Captain Smithwick, etc. At the beginning of the story of the book, it is depicted that Ginger’s sister-in-law named Felicia sends her a letter and requests her to come to the family home of her late husband called Bray Manor. Ginger’s grandmother, Dowager Gold, thinks the house is haunted. Ginger has no belief in the existence of ghosts, but she seems haunted to visit the house because of all the memories she has of her dead husband. For keeping the financial balance, Ambrosia and Felicia opened the Bray Manor for public use. Eventually, special events and club meetings started getting hosted there. One such event is organized at the Bray Manor in the form of a dance party for raising money for soldiers. Things take a different turn from the expectations as a dead body is discovered from the dance floor. Ginger Gold gets involved in solving yet another mystery.
