Jocelynn Drake
By day, Jocelynn Drake is but a clean-cut financial analyst writer, however in her free time she writes all about a dark underworld where the vampires rule. This former Kentucky girl has moved all over America with her husband.
She loves a good story, whether she’s writing one of her own, or just reading it. Over the years, her tales have allowed her to talk with dragons, explore space, dodge bullets with hitmen, hang out with vampires, and fall in love over and over again.
When Jocelynn is not busy curled up with a book or hammering on her keyboard, she can be found walking her dog, cuddling her cat, or playing some video games. She loves Ezio Auditore, Bruce Wayne, explosions, tattoos, travel, and fast cars.
Jocelynn’s debut novel, called Nightwalker”, was released in the year 2008. Her work is from the romantic suspense, romance, and urban fantasy. She writes the “Ward Security” series, the “Dark Days” series, the “Unbreakable Bonds” series (with Rinda Elliott), the “Asylum Tales” series, the “Exit Strategy” series, the “Pineapple Grove” series, and the “Lords of Discord” series.
“Nightwalker” is the first novel in the “Dark Days” series and was released in the year 2008. Mira has been a nightwalker for centuries now. It is an unstoppable enforcer for this mysterious organization that manipulates earth-shaking events from the darkest of shadows. However elemental mastery over fire is what sets her apart from the others of her night-prowling breed. It might be all that prevents her doom, too.
The enemy that she now faces is a human one. The vampire hunter known as Danaus, who’s already destroyed a lot of undead. For Mira, the time has come to either hunt or be hunted.
Mira is strong, brilliant enough to know her place in the world, and sexy, while Danaus is a great mix of smoldering mystery and power.
“Dayhunter” is the second novel in the “Dark Days” series and was released in the year 2009. A new day dawns blood red.
Mira, a master of fire, is the final hope for this world. For centuries now, she has secretly enforced the Triad’s history-altering edicts. Now she and Danaus, her unlikely ally and the human vampire hunter, have arrived n Venice which is the home of the nightwalker rulers. However there isn’t any safety in this ancient city, for the threat of conflict lies in the wind, with some unholy alliances and the earth-shattering betrayals taking hideous form in the shadows.
Banished for eons beyond the boundaries of the world, the malevolent “naturi” get ready to feed once more upon a vulnerable earth, and treachery is opening the portal that’s going to enable their dreadful re-emergence. The great battle that’s always been Mira’s destiny is coming, and she has to remain powerful in the face of one shocking revelation: that Danaus, the one creature she can trust, is something a lot more than the guy he claims he is.
“Dawnbreaker” is the third novel in the “Dark Days” series and was released in the year 2009. The dawn brings some new terror for creatures of the night. Those of her race fear Mira for the deadly fire she bends to her will, a power that is special among nightwalkers. It is both a gift and a curse.
The naturi despise her for what she is, while preparing the final sacrifice that is going to destroy the barriers between the worlds. Once the naturi have become unchained, chaos, horror, and blood are going to reign supreme on Earth.
Mira is only able to trust the more than mortal vampire slayer, Danaus, even though he has sworn to destroy her kind. Now, while the day comes when titanic forces are going to duel under the cover of darkness, destiny pulls them toward an apocalyptic confrontation at Machu Picchu. All is not lost, however, for there is a wild card that has been dealt to them. It is a rogue enemy princess that can change the balance of power and turn the dread tide.
“Pray for Dawn” is the fourth novel in the “Dark Days” series and was released in the year 2010. Pray for salvation and pray for daylight. A murder has pulled Mira right out of the shadows and right back into the world of the living.
While the fire-wielding enforcer of the nightwalker coven grapples with the mind-wrecking ghosts from her dark past, the murder of a senator’s daughter in Savannah threatens to expose her breed to the bright light of day. Dawn of chaos has arrived. The naturi have broken out of their eternal prison to feed on the unbelieving and the defenseless of this unprepared Earth.
Danaus and Mira have to unite to prevent total annihilation of both their races. However for Danaus this challenge is made more intense because he has to also battle with the bori who wants his soul. For Mira, the nightwalker, he has to protect and whose power is the final hope for Earth, is quickly going insane.
“Wait for Dusk” is the fifth novel in the “Dark Days” series and was released in the year 2010. There isn’t any safe haven in the night.
Mira, who is feared by even her own kind because of her mastery of fire, the nightwalker is summoned by the coven to take her rightful spot as Elder. With this honor, however comes some grim responsibility: a commitment to the total annihilation of the unleashed naturi. For now these foul creatures are walking the earth, and neither vampire nor human’s going to survive their terrible onslaught.
The tide of blood sweeps mercilessly across the European continent, while Mira gets dispatched to Budapest for the most devastating of tests yet for her astonishing powers. She falls right into a well-laid trap. With dark secrets that haunt her continue to grow darker with each hour, she has to face the horrible truth about her past and keep her fragile sanity safe in the face of some unanticipated treachery. It is a betrayal by her beloved enemy and most trusted ally Danaus.
