About Scott Moon
An American writer of science-fiction and crime novels, the author Scott Moon is well known for his engaging and compelling stories. Following in the footsteps of authors such as George R.R. Martin, he’s a well versed novelist of fantasy too, creating rich and inventive worlds. Many of his fantasy titles are also urban fantasies, as he brings a sense of realism to his books, grounding them and making them easier to relate to. With fast paced action taking place in far-off fantastical worlds, he really allows his stories to come into their own, giving his work a real sense of immediacy.
With a clear gift for tension and suspense, he really knows how to keep his audience glued to the edge of their seat. Crafting finely tuned action narratives alongside rich and immersive worlds is something that Moon definitely more than excels at. Knowing his audience, he delivers his narratives in an entertaining manner, understanding exactly where they’re coming from and what they’re looking for. Setting himself apart from other writers within his particular field, he has essentially created his own particular idiosyncratic niche.
Featuring many strong leading characters too, his protagonists are fully fleshed out too, as they feel ready to leap off the page. Combining this with well told stories, this all works together to create something unique and interesting, and quite different. Leaving a lasting impact for many readers, he ensures that they continually want to come back for more time and time again. With a lot more to follow, there’s plenty more books planned upon the horizon, with a lot more books coming in the future.
Early and Personal Life
Born with a love and passion for all things literature, the American writer to be Scott Moon would heavily invest himself in the world of genre fiction. Looking to essentially transport readers to far-off distant lands, he’d combine his interest in high-octane science-fiction and fiction, developing it over time. It would also be the police-procedural he’d come to use, drawing from his own experience as a working police-officer.
Working with a drug and gang unit at a street level, he’s also operated as a detective within the Exploited Missing Child Unit as well. He’s also worked with SWAT, undertaking a whole host of tactical gear, and in 2005 would help in the arrest of a serial-killer who had been at large for over thirty years. All this has led to him and his writing career as it currently stands today, with him continuing to write on into the foreseeable future.
Writing Career
Back in 2012 Scott Moon would bring out his first novel ‘Dragon Bridge,’ and this would also be the first in his ‘Son of a Dragonslayer’ series of books. He’d later also bring out ‘Dragon Attack’ in 2013, and ‘Dragon Land’ in 2016, all of which would continue this debut fantasy series. Over the years he bring out various other series too, such as ‘Chronicles of Kin Roland’ in 2013, and ‘Darklanding’ in 2017, which he collaborated with author Craig Martelle for.
Often collaborating with fellow genre authors, he’d also go on to help establish the venture ‘Keystroke Medium’, which would provide a space for fellow authors. Often seen as being at the forefront of his particular genre, he’s also heavily invested in the world of audiobooks as well. Drawing in readers from all over, his writing career will continue to grow from strength-to-strength, and he isn’t stopping anytime soon.
Empire
Originally brought out in 2018 on the 28th of June, this was first released on the Kindle publishing platform to much acclaim. Written alongside fellow science-fiction author Craig Martelle, they work together to create a compelling and action packed story. Marking the final part of the season one finale of the ‘Assignment Darklanding’ series of novels, this was to be the twelfth part overall.
The series of ‘Assignment Darklanding’ is one that’s episodic, with a grand feeling of the space-opera about it. Drawing from a whole wealth of different sources of inspiration, it’s a creative and intelligent take on the genre with a lot to offer. Keeping readers continually hooked throughout, there’s plenty of cliffhangers that really push the action to the upper level.
With men and women rallying the Mother Lode, there’s a dark alien menace looming on the horizon, threatening the town of Darklanding. Now TerroCom soldiers have landed within the middle of the swarm, and they appear to have only just enough firepower to stay alive. The sheriff of Darklanding has to decide who he will save in the midst of all this, as the future of the town is at stake. Will they manage to save the frontier town of Darklanding? Can they manage to get out alive? What will become of the Empire?
Victory Day
Initially published through the ‘Scott Moon Productions LLC’ publishing outlet that Moon himself manages, this would first come out on the 15th of September in 2020. Marking the third part of the the series ‘They Came For Blood,’ it would be the second part essentially of the previous book ‘Resistance Day,’ which was published just a few months earlier. Continuing in much the same vein as before, it’s similar to the previous books, while bringing in some exciting developments all of its own. It’s a classic alien invasion story, filled with action and adventure, set in a post-apocalyptic world featuring mech warriors.
It’s essential that David Osage needs to rescue the mysterious young Navigator, because she is instrumental in sending all of the Fosk-ha away for good. Not only that, but Osage also must prevent his own sister from becoming a monster, despite them requiring that monster in the fight against the enemy. Humanity must also form an alliance with an alien overlord if they wish to survive the coming invasion of the Fosk-ha, but it is an uneasy alliance at best. Will they be able to survive the impending onslaught? Can David Osage rescue the Navigator and his own sister? What will see them all through to victory day?
