Kris Michaels is an Amazon and USA Today bestselling author best known for her romantic suspense and paranormal romance series of novels. She loves to say that she is the alter ego of a mother and married wife that writes romance novels featuring heroes from law enforcement or military backgrounds. The author was born and raised in South Dakota, at one of the most remote villages in the state. It was so remote that during her high school year, the entire graduating class had only thirteen students that was made up of two boys and eleven girls. Michaels would then join the military, which is where she met her husband. The two would then spend several years traveling the world before she decided to try her hand at fiction writing. She had always been an avid dreamer and watcher and she used these powers to write stories around the dreams and hopes of a true romantic. Kris remains one of the very few people that still believe people are beautiful and everyone deserves to have their happy ending.
As for why and when he began writing, Kris Michaels has said that he read a novel five years before he wrote his first manuscript that he still believes is one of the best stories ever written. Once he read the novel and several others in the series, he realized that he could pen something similar and thought that why not take a shot at publishing. He first considered himself an author when he reached the milestone of making it to the USA Today bestseller list. It was not long before he had also made it into Amazon’s best selling lists as well. As for style, he has a very specific style though he writes in a very narrow genre. Nonetheless, Kris has said that he cannot explain his writing style even if readers believe she has a unique one. She usually writes across genres and has been known for writing police procedurals, military, alpha male heroes and strong and sassy women that kick ass. She has also written gay romance fiction but believes her novels can all be wrapped up under the romance fiction genre.
She currently makes her home on the Gulf coast from where she writes her novels. When she is not writing, she loves to spend time with friends and family while laughing and enjoying cold red wines or some whiskey.
Kris Michaels’ “Jacob” is the story of Victoria Marshall, a CIA agent who has been abandoned in the Afghani hell hole. But even though she had survived every torture session thrown at her with focused determination, everyone has their limits. She knew that she was running out of time. On the other hand is Jacob King, a man who was in charge of a private black ops operation that had been sent to gather intelligence in the remote reaches of Afghanistan. He did not expect that he would find an American citizen in such a place and admires her brave humor, even when she had been severely injured. Hoping to get to know her better, he asked if she would be open for a date and proceeded to check himself out of the hospital to meet the woman. He was not going to let his injuries stop him from going on a date with a woman that lived in his dreams ever since he saw her. When the blond, leggy bombshell shows up in a red dress, Jacob knows he was right in setting up the date. On her part, Victoria is ready to nurse the sexy as sin southerner back to health as battle scars and bullet wounds are her specialty. Will proximity, time and natural attraction give birth to something magical?
“Joseph” by Kris Michaels is the story of an assassin named Joseph King and Ember Harris, a man who is dedicated to saving lives. They have death in common but are always on opposing sides of it. At the start of the novel, Dr. Ember Harris finds himself mired in political corruption, death and drugs after answering a dying man’s plea. The man who killed his friend is the boss of a cartel who will do everything in his power to get the information left to her. He believes finding and killing someone like Ember is a walk in the park and it will just be a matter of money, time and a contract. Ember asks for the help of the only man she can trust at a time when she is all alone, terrified and on the run. The assassin Joseph King is back from a very dangerous mission from which he had nearly died but he comforts himself saying it is all part of the job. He knows that sooner or later the target or the competition will get lucky and it will be all over. He now thinks it is time he got out of the dangerous life and walked away at the height of his powers. But when Ember, the only woman he ever loved calls, asking for help he cannot turn her down. He takes protecting her as one last job but soon things between him and her spin out of control and there is nothing they can do about it.
Kris Michaels’ “Adam” tells the story of Adam who knows two things: fate is abitch and life is never easy. During his last mission he had lost his memory, an eye and a chance at spending his time with the Guardian’s Alpha Team, his military brothers in arms. Within two years, he had rebuilt and redefined himself but it was the nights that he dreaded. He could never shake the memory of the welcome and warm press of soft skin and the nameless and faceless memory of a woman he still loved. Keele Marshall is very familiar with loss as she had lost the man she loved very much in Afghanistan. She could not forget the nights of passion they once shared but now she has to fight for his love even as he insists on pushing her towards a man she doesn’t love. For Keelee and Adam, the perfect love and life they are seeking may seem out of their grasp given the cards dealt by fate.
