About Peter Crouch

Previously a British footballer now turned public personality and author, Peter Crouch is well-known for his skill both on and off the pitch. Previously playing for Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, and Portsmouth, he played within the English Premier League football divisions for a number of years. Early and Personal Life

Born in Macclesfield, Cheshire, in 1981 on the 30th of January, Peter Crouch would spend three years of his life living in Singapore after his family moved there when he was one years old. Moving back to England his family would go on to settle in Harrow on the Hill, as he attended North Ealing Primary, playing football for Northolt Hotspurs. In 1991 he would go on to join the Brentford Centre of Excellence, before playing for the West Middlesex Colts boy’s club, while also attending Drayton Manor High School.

Joining Queen’s Park Rangers during the summer of 1994 after turning down multiple offers, he would go on to play for Tottenham Hotspur in November later that year. As a rising star he would reach the Premier League in 2000, playing for QPR again, scoring a total of ten goals over the 2000-01 season spent there. Later playing for Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur, he would retire from playing football full-time in 2019, and is married to the model Abbey Clancy who he has two daughters and two sons with.

Writing Career

Publishing his debut book ‘Walking Tall’ back in 2007, Peter Crouch would only later turn to writing following his departure from playing full-time. He’d follow this up with ‘How to be a Footballer,’ which would come out in 2018, also being hugely successful upon its release. Nominated for several awards, it would be seen as a critical success, providing plenty of insight into his life and work.
