Early and Personal Life
Toby Neighbors was always drawn to stories, starting from a young age. Even when he was a kid, he cherished trips to the library and the local bookstores in the mall. He read classic fantasy and science-fiction authors like Edgar Rice Burrows and Robert Jordan. Later on, in college, Toby discovered he had a knack for writing and began honing his craft.
He was lucky to find his soul mate and the love of his life. His wife serves as his cover designer, success coach, workout partner, and muse. He wears his love for her on his sleeve, literally, with her name tattooed on his arm. Together, they have four kids and live in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho.
Writing Career
Toby Neighbors has been a writer for many years, beginning his career by reading Tarzan novels by Edgar Rice Burrows and stories by Robert Jordan and Steve Perry. He soon realized that his love of stories had grown into a natural writing ability, which he worked to develop over the next decade. In 2007, Toby wrote his debut novel, Third Prince, a fantasy adventure. This was followed by the first volume of his epic fantasy Five Kingdoms series, Wizard Rising, which was released in December 2011.
Toby dedicated himself to writing full time in 2012, relocating his family to the Northern Rockies. Over the course of the next eight years, his stories branched out into both science fiction and modern day crime thrillers.
His work gained a lot of attention and a dedicated fanbase of readers. In addition, Toby also began to explore screen writing, aiming to bring his stories to the big and small screens. He continues to write books to this day, and is actively working to make his stories come alive on the screen.
Hidden Fire
Toby Neighbors’ fantasy novel, ‘Hidden Fire,’ was published on August 27, 2012 by Mythic Adventure Publishing. It is the third book in the ‘Five Kingdoms’ series, and it is recommended to be read in order. The series has been well-received by readers, as each book builds upon the events of the previous ones.
Zollin, a young wizard, is at the center of a chaotic conflict in the Five Kingdoms. His awakening of magical powers sets off a chain of events that lead to a dragon ravaging the north, refugees fleeing to the cities, and the Council of Kings plotting an invasion in the south. To protect the kingdom of Yelsia, Zollin must face the Torr, a powerful group of wizards.
With the help of his friends, Zollin strives to bring peace and safety to the Five Kingdoms, no matter the sacrifice.
Through the brilliant storytelling, readers are taken on an incredible journey with Zollin. The themes of friendship and sacrifice are woven throughout the story as Zollin battles the Torr, a powerful group of wizards, in order to protect the kingdom of Yelsia. The exciting plot and vivid characters of ‘Zollin’ make it a must-read for any fantasy fan.
Gravity Flux
On August 13, 2019, the science-fiction novel ‘Gravity Flux’ was released. It was published by Mythic Adventure Publishing and is part of the ‘Kestrel Class Saga’ series. Once again, it is recommended to read the series in order to experience the story in its entirety.
Ben was a wanted man after he rebuilt the Modulus Echo from salvaged parts on the junk world of Torrent Four. He had no idea his actions would lead him back to his home planet. When a new passenger boards the Echo, it could be the way out for Ben and his crew, or possibly spell the end of civilization as they know it.
Only time will tell, with the Modulus Echo at the heart of everything.
