Early and Personal Life
Originally hailing from Canada, M. Darusha Wehm always had a strong connection with reading and writing from an early age. Growing up, they found immense enjoyment in exploring various genres and immersing themselves in different stories. This passion naturally guided them toward fantasy and science fiction, where their imagination could truly flourish.
After several years of sailing across the Pacific, Wehm decided to settle in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand. This unique journey and the diverse experiences undoubtedly enriched their storytelling abilities. Elsinore Robotics is on the brink of developing the first humanoid androids with true artificial intelligence, competing against their rival, Norwegian Technologies. After winning a public contest against Norwegian’s Fortinbras, their HAM(let) v.1 model is found deactivated due to wild malware. The memories of the first Hamlet model persist in Hamlet v.2, who vows revenge but struggles with the integration of Old Hamlet’s backup.

In a future where technology has solved major problems, life has become boring, filled with tedious work and mundane play. Jack, a Security Officer Class 5, finds her monotonous days disrupted when she discovers an invasion into her employer’s computer system. She seeks help from her colleagues, Gilles and online friend Adrian, to uncover the source of the breach.
Their investigation leads to a shadowy group called the Red, where Jack discovers a different way of life and begins to question her own beliefs while confronting those responsible for a series of attacks.
It’s another gripping science-fiction novella that keeps readers engaged from start to finish. The story of Jack, a Security Officer navigating a future where technology has made life mundane, is both intriguing and thought-provoking. The characters are well-developed and the plot is captivating. Highly recommended for sci-fi fans.
