At Asher’s graduation party, they end up sleeping together. Faith never imagined that she would stir to find Asher had left without a word. Seven years later, Faith is shocked to learn that the new gym teacher at her school is Asher Wells. But Asher does not know that she is engaged to someone else and the big question is do they still have feelings for each other and whether will they have the courage to act on them. It is a sweet love story with a naive but sweet girl, who has no idea about how bad people can be. Asher is well aware that Faith is sensitive and sweet and as such, he is determined to do everything to keep her safe. It is a story with plenty of heartache and lots of drama, even as it deals with some very real-life subjects whose stories and actions will make you want to cry. All in all, it is a beautiful story with an interesting premise and some very intriguing characters.

Loving Luca is a novel that Lyra Winters published in 2020. This is the story of Magnolia simply known as Mags who has been in love with Luca for much of her life. On his part, Luca has probably also been in love with her, even though having any sort of relationship with her is hard since he fears commitment. Nonetheless, they have hooked up many times and you would think this would make things easier but it does not. It also does not help that Mags happens to be a good friend of his cousin. When Faith who is a cousin to Luca and Mags’ best friend announces that she will be having an expensive destination wedding, Luca and Mags will do anything to make it a success. But as the wedding comes closer, Luca and Mags often find themselves thrown together, as their romantic relationship turns very real as they grow closer. But with Mags’ potential romance with another man and Luca’s fear, they have to make a critical decision and take on the consequences of it.

Lyra Winters showcased her prowess at writing romance with the third novel of the Violet Ridge series Forever Flynn, which has to be one of the best she has ever written. This is the story of Eve and Flynn who had been in a romantic relationship ten years earlier, before Flynn left in a huff without a word. It had taken Eve years to get over his betrayal made worse by a terrible long-term romance she recently ended that had left her battered and broken. But then she learns that Flynn would be coming back home with emotional and mental scars and half a leg. She is finally recovering from the trauma of her abusive ex and is doing okay but seeing Flynn leaves her in a conundrum. But when her ex starts sending her some menacing hints, she has no choice but to rely on Flynn, particularly when she learns that he never meant to abandon her. It is a beautiful second-chance romance with the PTSD/military aspect adding a nice touch to the story.
