She did not put this education to any literary use and instead spent the next few years running around New York and San Francisco, working in branding and market research and being able to spin a career together out of going out.

Holly is married. She has two daughters and lives with her husband in Portland, Oregon. There she usually prefers to stay in the house and can be found writing or spending quality time with her family.

Deep Cuts is a 2024 novel from Holly Brickley. It was a national bestseller in addition to being a Today Show Spring Pick. Others have also praised this book, with bestselling author Coco Mellors calling the story as ‘tender as a ballad’ and as ‘pleasurable as a pop song’.
