When a man thinks that he’s off to take a great island resort vacation, it seems like the perfect trip. But little does he know that the universe has some other things in store for him. So when the sun explodes with little to no warning and he finds that he is in fact trapped on the resort, he is suddenly faced with some interesting choices. Should he choose to save himself from all of this chaos or is he going to put his energy into trying to help the other guests get off of the island?
He already wrote up his vacation checklist, but didn’t know that he had to put the end of the world on it. Dan Foster is excited to start his vacation. He’s a professional underachiever, but it’s finally time for him to go on an authentic vacation and takes some time off. He plans to pack his swim trunks and other island attire and bring with him some sunscreen to apply. Little did he know that he should have written down surviving the apocalypse on his to-do list.
Dan’s life has been fairly average, and you could say that he never was able to quite live up to the potential that others saw in him. But it seems that at last things are starting to turn around and look better than ever, especially when he arrives in paradise with Mara and he enjoys a couple Miller Lites with his girlfriend.
Everything is going well until the sun explodes. Then the island resort finds out that they are suddenly in very real darkness, and Dan is thinking that he should have opted to get the travel insurance a little too late. But things are about to get even worse when the elite guests there decide that it’s time for them to put on a coup and commandeer the supplies.
The temperatures are going down and the class tensions are going up, and it appears that revolution is getting started on the island. Then Dan becomes a beacon of hope accidentally for all of the vacationers who have survived. But he quickly realizes that he might have a choice to make when they find a six person plane that has the potential to get them all back to the mainland.
Should Dan try to get off of the island along with his girlfriend Mara? Or should he instead try to do his best to stick it out and end up fighting to try and become an unlikely hero at what could be the end of the world? Read Zero Stars, Do Not Recommend to follow along with everything that happens and find out what happens at the exciting conclusion!
